I started tgis expecting a fun Republican era mystery with some Lost Tomb lore and somehow ended up emotionally destroyed by Zhang Haixia😭

Watching him go from this smart, sarcastic accountant constantly bickering with haiyan to someone willing to give up everything just so his partner in crime could live was painful enough, but the show somehow made it worse.

He doesn't get a heroic ending,he doesn't get peace,he comes back broken, traumatized, stripped of his own will, turned into a weapon while Haiyan desperately tries to save him as everything crashes down around them, it was just tragedy after tragedy.


And Ding Yuxi absolutely wrecked me throughout the serie especially larest episodes, the emptiness in his eyes, the way you could feel Haixia disappearing piece by piece... I genuinely wasn't prepared for that Shrimpie deserved happiness and instead got endless suffering. I'm sick, devastated, and probably not recovering from this anytime soon 😭💔

Haiyan trying his best to save him and save tgeir mentor was heartbreaking, he was grieving his only family while they were dying infront of him slowly, his guilt run deep, he killed his shrimpie and left living with this reality.

When it come to overall storytelling, they cut a lot and added some side stories that i didnt care about, we deserved the scenes that were deleted, anyway this was a ride, recommended

Wasted potential

Ill start by saying actors did well with whatever they got, i loved the cast, they can do more with such gopd combinations of actors and theme
Regarding serie, i watched bs series and bad production but this show win the most awkward script and directing, istg its Giving ai generated with the way it's very monotone and dry and disconnected
Phasta and nakhun great chemistry but story was lost, fck the dads
Ongsa and nakhin had same lines in their conversations, even in last ep
Napitch and Sangneaus... Anyway
So many characters with useless
Existence, no offense, i didnt get whats their role and not to mention new people in last ep?? Where did omega trafficking case go!?.. Anyway, a wasted potential

Whatever this was

This was genuinely a waste of time. The storyline was all over the place and made very little sense, the acting was weak, and most of the characters were more irritating than engaging. The excessive filters were distracting, the second couple added nothing interesting to the story, and the pacing was painfully slow. Every episode felt longer than it actually was, yet somehow the plot barely moved forward. I kept waiting for things to improve, but they never did. By the end, I wasn't frustrated with the drama as much as I was with myself for actually finishing it. Definitely one of the most disappointing watches I've sat through.

What a let down

finally,the tale of the demon big jane come to an end, the show had great cast with great chemistry, nice setting and locations, and a potential good story that sadly stayed as potential, i cant help but be dissapointed with it bcz it was a look forward for me
Since ep 1, i pointed out that te serie is missing something, fpr 3 episodes we've been told about bj dark side yet we didn't get to see it, by ep 5 we got just a man with anger management issue that have no respect to boundaries and cant take a no, in 2nd half we got lover boy
I kept waiting for big reveal of dark side yet it got nowhere, than there come the boring character aka Lil jane, indecisive character, he never trusted BJ since moment one, which was why i couldn't connect with their undying love story, his wishy washy personality was my enemy, bcz instead of exploring the actual conflict, the story just kept dragging the 2jane through tge same endless cycle of separation, doubt, reconciliation, doubt again, and more unnecessary angst,
Lj would question bj, distance himself, come back, question him again, decide he couldnt trust him,tgen remember he loved him, then need more time to think...an endless loop without character development whatsoever, tgqn there come amnesia which was a filler to drag show more episodes, Dan who was a plot device than appear out of nowhere than dissappear was not intersting, his encyclopedia of information by final had no impact , gladly he died tho, anyway tgis is getting long, i kinda want to cook lil jane more but ill wrap up the review

The pair deserved better storyline

Flower Boy is a case of strong visual execution paired with weak narrative depth,despite the interesting concept, it suffers from inconsistent character writing, rushed emotional arcs, and underdeveloped storytelling, resulting in a drama that looks better than it feels
Mudan people were giving me a cult instead of special people with special scent

My biggest issue with is Gaysorn himself. While the series clearly wants viewers to see him as an innocent, kind hearted, and sheltered character, his writing is so inconsistent that I often found him more frustrating than sympathetic.
At first, his naivety is understandable,he comes from a excluded area and has little experience with the modern world,however, as the story progresses, his innocence starts to feel less like a character trait and more like a plot device,Gaysorn repeatedly ignores obvious warning signs, trusts people far too easily, and makes decisions that stretch believability,Instead of rooting for him, I often found myself questioning how he could be so oblivious, also the whole saint father/uncle situation… i genuinely don’t get how the story expects me to just move on from them being the killers of gaysorn’s parents, and accept scent with gaysorn, which btw scent lost his importance by ep 4, idk why they made character such weak and unlikable.

What a pleasant surprise

I didn't plan to watch this show bcz my dramalist is long but i ended up clicking on it randomly and wjen i say i binged 15 episodes without sleeping, i was so entertained, loved every minute of it
The drama is not romance centric, it have many subplots and stories for characters that are engaging and doesn't feel overwhelming either, i loved the found family between teacher, coach and football team, they were healing eo without even knowing thzt.
lin wanxing and wang fa’s romance was slow lovely and well developed, a truly stranger to lovers and fck her parents.
Loved how kids got WF to teach them and find hope again in football and teaching, after he lost his best student, he overcome the guilt and was be able to coach again
The kids were so good, portraying teenagers emotions in best way, my favorite was Qin Ao, he was playful, funny, emotional, hot headed yet very kind hearted, he was very cute

Fu Xin Shu and Wen Cheng Ye had shitty families, i loved their storyline, the angst to reconciliation with eo, seeing wcy open up to whole team slowly was wholesome

I don't want to say much, this is wholesome storyline with great communication between characters, the osts and acting, visuals were comforting

A way to waste time on something irritating

This mess finally ended 😭 and honestly, i still don't know why I stuck around,it was boring, overcrowded with characters, and packed with storylines that went nowhere.

Rit spent half the series deceiving everyone, then the other half crying because he got deceived himself... the irony,and Itt somehow managed to be just as irritating.,after ritt giving that whole speech about fortune telling, he exposed himand really reduced an entire thesis to a love confession? Be serious.

Pure and Pitcha were cute, I guess, but even they couldn't save how dull everything felt. Overall, just lazy writing, weak character work, and a plot that kept going in circles. If you're looking to waste your time, this is definitely an option.

It was ok

This was an okay GL overall,i was interested in the storyline, but the chemistry didn't really click for me, tge plot had potential, especially with the time travel element, but it felt underused and eventually lost my attention

Ple actions were frustrating for most of the series,even with the whole "I'm doing this to protect you" justification, she often came across as unnecessarily harsh rather than sympathetic and for a supposedly massive company, it felt like there were only three employees running the place

What ultimately made the show disappointing was how predictable and anticlimactic it became, The father being villain reveal, Peem's death, and most of the major twists were easy to see coming, which took away any emotional impact.

The production quality and visuals were definitely strong, and the premise was genuinely interesting, but the execution never lived up to its potential.

A Wasted Potential

All i can say about this drama that it was a wasted potential, it aired exclusively on Netflix internationally, you'd think the will put more effort to meed the expectations and aim for wider audience but no, it was a whole mess, the storyline had potential, but potential is all what it could be, i went all my way to read original source just to see whats the issue, i found novel as bad, but they had freedom to edit and modify story, they could made it better, tone down romance or balance it with crime thriller elements, bcz omg hade and kamin were so incompetent, and flirted on every wrong place like corps and crime scenes🙄🙄 I was baffled how bad written both main characters was for their detective roles.
Crime part was intersting and kept me watching, i had multiple theory before figuring it out by ep 7, but that couldn't make up to to weird editing, out of place romance and above it the mesdy audio quality
Anyway sigh, it was disappointing bcz i love the cast

It was better than i expected but i wanted more

I started this show with no expectations and surprisingly i liked it more than i thought, saitharn character took different direction from what we used to have, he wzsnt the stubborn brat from city who refuse to settle down in countryside, instead he worked hard tired his best to learn and get close to everyone and he succeed to do that,he found family within farmer, i loved how relationship with sila, it started as one night stand than creditor-debtor to lovers, they didn't deny their feeling or fight it, just went with flow, another part i liked how they made us suspicious with 2 people when it come to betrayal.
Phae having girlfriend was nice bcz her family is shitty but their story was bland
Now let me go with things that let me down, we didn't get much of sila and saitharn
, we deserved more of them,
saitharn trauma and backstory was brushed off quickly, and we didn't learn whats his full conflict with his mom from first place
The villain ending felt incomplete, after exposing them on party we didn't see them again, it felt there is no closure for that side of story in my head.

Weakest story

As someone who read original sourcei wasn't excited for adaptation, its excatly how i expected it, the storyline goes from high school bl to Tiger’s heavy mafia family , tgese two parts clashes to me bcz how the mafia part treated as some regular job, what didn't help is the weak acting from supportive characters like tiger's brother or comical mafia boss father.
What i enjoyed is tiger finding family in nao, his twin and mom, their part was my favorite on the serie, if we get back to love stpry, tiger 6year secret crush on nao, his yearning was fun, but till last minute i didn't feel nao romantic love towards him, it felt forced with no buildup from nao side, i wished that part would done better to feel more convincing.

Overall tgis wasnt bad but wasn't good either.

Very high production, but lost in story delivery

This drama stared so well, the pacing, narrative and story buildup was very good, than it got lost somehow with incompetent characters, mesdy writing and just boring storytelling.
I loved signha and thup storyline, how they met, how they grow closer even tho im questioning why there is no lawyers for suspects in the drama but lets move on.
Details to connect ghosts with crime could've been better bcz darin, a doctor who work with police suggesting ghist doing crime in first few scenes was so random lol.
Darin and sey took few episodes to stop playing around eo with miscommunication, but they were cute when they got together.

Now coming to everyone, aka police officers, everyone is so incompetent, the characters incompetence for plot convenience was killing the story progress and the enjoyment, it lead me to just lose excitement while watching, bcz i went from i cant wait to watch to lets get over it., anyway the ending was satisfying.
I might complained a lot bcz i hate seeing potential to be wasted but i won't say i didnt enjoy it full
