Disappointing plot but great nostalgic scenery!

The movie starts off pretty well since its entertaining to see how the FL gets to know the ML and his friend, especially through her mischiefs. But it ends up going down the cliché route halfway through the movie: the FL and her friend end up liking the same guy so FL lies to the guy about her feelings. This makes the plot frustrating and hard to watch. It's not very creative and doesn't make the characters seem thoughtful or relatable. If anything, it made the FL seem irresponsible for making the people around her confused and left in the dark. Although I think Yoo Jung's acting is pretty good, its the scriptwriters who mostly failed this part of the movie.

The other main cast members had mediocre acting, especially the two male leads. Though, I do feel a nice bit of chemistry between Yoo Jung and the two!

Overall, the little things like her school, family, and friendships are heartwarming and fun. The nostalgic vibe and the cinematography were stunning. But that's mostly what uplifts the movie for me. And I know a lot of people are unhappy about the ending, but that's what helped me feel some strong emotions, especially with the video tape at the end. It was heart-wrenching and I like actress Hyo Joo's moments there. Without the ending, I would probably give this a 5.

I wouldn't go out of my way to recommend this movie but if you want to watch a light-hearted romcom with a mediocre cliche plot, and don't mind a sad ending, go for it...

This was super cute ? the dialogue, the characters, the interactions - especially during their youth - were so heartwarming and nostalgic ! It's not just about romance but about your school life, academics, family, and friends.

I swear, the ML actor Chen Zhe Yuan (Si Yue in the drama) talks with his eyes - they're always filled with an emotion and you can tell exactly what he's trying to say. His voice is so calm too. His character Si Yue was utterly charming and intelligent. The dialogue + delivery of his lines were killer. Can't wait to see him in more shows and I hope he gets the popularity he deserves for his acting abilities.

For the FL actress Xu Meng Jie (Ding Xian in the drama), she's so adorable as a high school girl! Her voice is also soothing and she portrays the "shy girl" in such a likable way. She's not only shy, but has so much more depth to her and she also grows as a character. It's really sweet watching her learn positive things from the ML.

The side characters like all the friends, adults, and antagonists also did an amazing job. I'd say the episodes toward the end were a bit more cheesy and could've been more fleshed out with actual romantic scenes but I'll forgive it since I know China's entertainment policy doesn't allow much for high school dramas and I still felt the flutters anyways ? I totally recommend this to anyone reading !!

a story that's about much more than just high school drama...

I was a bit confused watching the first couple of episodes with my friend. I didn't understand why Nanno, the FL, was mean and how she wasn't able to die/become upset.

This is because I didn't watch the trailer. Watch the trailer before trying this out!

It's about real tragedies that have occurred to 13 female victims and Nanno takes revenge for them. When you think about it that way, the episodes are fascinating as you get to see the really dark side of these events that took place, and the satisfaction when Nanno avenges the girls. I'm not exactly sure but I think Nanno plays the part of the victim and in the end, gets revenge. It's interesting to see Nanno, or the victims, also have a part in the tragedies that occur. Not everything is black and white. But eventually, the victim is the victim because the perpetrator takes it too far.

Nanno plays her character well, being satan's daughter and all, and her laugh is hilarious. It surprised me at first but you always wait for her to bring back the iconic laugh.

There were some moments that confused me though. Or I just found it ridiculous. Hence the 8.5.

I found certain stories more eventful than others, so continue watching to see different ones! Can't wait for Season 2!!

the comedy you never knew you needed...

I was hesitant on trying this because I thought it'd have the slapstick comedy I see in kdramas and I wouldn't enjoy it. But this was different!

Kwangsoo is the gem of the show, and his family members make it even better. The ridiculous comedy is gonna have you giggling and shaking your head in a good way. The way Kwangsoo smiles and acts is so funny. It's family-like but also has many ridiculous concepts that involve poop or nakedness which makes it weird but it's still enjoyable. It's the type of comical stories that I remember for days. I even showed some of the best episodes to my family, and we really enjoyed it together. Favorite episode is definitely the mother's birthday (episode 2).

I'd definitely recommend it to people who need a good laugh.

Definitely upset that the actors changed for Season 2.

So I've tried produce 101 before but I never finished it because the performances kinda bored me sometimes, yet the drama/cut scenes were fun so I'd just watch them on YouTube. Then came Road to Kingdom and oh. my. GOD. These performances are top-notch. It's like watching agt dance performances with a touch of kpop and magic and small STORYLINES like making references to Aladdin or the zombie series Kingdom or just a general theme about thieves. They use other artist's songs like Danger by Taemin or Rising Sun by TVXQ (or even their own song) and make amazing remix versions/dance covers of them. The companies/idols/show put so much effort into these, it'd be a waste not to watch them. You can even rewatch your favorite performances on YT.

I was already a fan of ONEUS before the show. This introduced me to many other groups/songs, especially The Boyz who I am a fan of now because I liked their performances/personalities. My favorite groups here were probably ONF, The Boyz, ONEUS, TOO and Pentagon cause they had some spectacular performances. The finale was fantastic, I continuously listen to those finale songs.

It took me a while to finish this drama. I genuinely liked all the characters. The plot just felt draggy at times. And the time travel bit felt confusing at times (near the middle/end) that I had to go read summaries after an episode to understand what happened.
The best parts were when we got to see happy moments with the FL and the ML/SML at their high-school. Their friendship was amazing. The relationship between the FL and ML was also pretty cute even in the future. It makes you want to have a relationship :') The plot twists really leave you in awe once you figure them out.

The best characters were probably the FL and ML. Chen Yu Run (SFL??) is pitiful. Mo Jun Jie is kinda dull but also... pitiful. Zhi Qi and Zhong Ru were interesting!!

The ending is bittersweet and ambiguous! It hints at something but its not enough to hold onto unless you watch the special ending (mini) episode which kinda makes it feel better :)

This was my second J-drama! I first started this a year ago but I only finished episode 1 and didn't feel like to continue. Recently, I tried more episodes and I'm so glad I gave it a go. It gets way better after episode 1 and I ended up binging it which is how ik I liked it. And here's why:

- Kento's character development. I love how he learns what's more important to him in life! Him and the FL's relationship is adorable.
- Mackenyu being a badass hottie - OML I'm in love with this man please play a villainous role again my ovaries will explode! (sorry).
- The FL is so cute ah. I love how simple she is and how she is just willing to help without wanting anything back.
- The SFL is likable too. Even though she doesn't feel like a strong element sometimes, her role plays well during certain moments, you'll see.

All the other side characters are great too and I felt for them. I also love the hobo guy omg his little parts in the beginning felt a bit annoying like - who are you and why do you know so much? LOL but its explained later and you start to like him more!! I also think the plot was fun, the time travel wasn't that confusing, they did it really well compared to Someday or One Day (which I also recently watched, but that wasn't bad either). It was a dark drama yet also pretty funny and cute at times?? Loved that.

The only thing I would criticize is the way they all try to... attack each other? Randomly outta the blue?? (You'll see what I mean when you watch it lmao). It just felt a bit cringy... nonetheless I enjoyed this crazy drama and the end left me feeling bittersweet but these bittersweet endings are always remembered the most. (WATCH THE SPECIAL EPISODE TO FEEL A BIT BETTER :D)

For some reason this took me a while to finish. It's dark, mysterious, and gloomy. The characters are not morally correct all the time so sometimes its hard to like them. But the acting is fantastic and it has this gritty feel to it that you just want to hold onto and find out what will happen next.

What I liked about this is you're always waiting for what might happen next. Some scenes were a shocker. The grittiness makes it feel different from your usual kdrama.

What made it weird was how some decisions the characters make doesn't sit right with you. For example, I didn't really like the FL at first. But I slowly got accustomed to her and some things made me like her more. (She be really pretty though). Currently waiting for season 2 cause the ending was wow.

I went in thinking I wouldn't like it because of the reviews - "its cringy" etc etc.

It starts off with the FL who seems kinda spoiled and dumb - which I usually hate - yelling words like nAni or being randomly shook and then falling into the ML's arms ugh but watching 30 minutes in you'll see how she uses this as her charm for the character later,, not her downfall. She's pure and puts her heart to things she wants to learn. She's the kinda dumb that you'd find endearing. Like a puppy. I found myself falling for her just like the ML did. Very cute. Very simple.
The ML is refreshing too - not super rude and arrogant for no reason. He had a genuine cause to do what he did. But he's a nice guy. The acting was great. The way he admired her for her determination and learning and the way she admired him for teaching her was pretty cool.

Some other side characters were great too. The butler. The landlady. Haha. The scene between the FL and his ex was actually amazing - lots of scenes like this had me smiling and laughing on the inside. Yes, they split up over a dumb reason but its pretty quick and you can easily gloss over it.

You won't get any super steamy romance out of it but it's cute and fluffy. Try it out before judging it especially if you're like me who can't stand cringy characters/plots.

I was intrigued because of Simon Gong,, I've seen bits of Flavor, Its Yours but that drama really sucked - no offense. I just thought he looked really good there. So yes I went in because of his looks lol.
The FL is better than most Chinese dramas and that's what kept me goin'. I liked her and the ML too. The first few episodes weren't too bad but the story started to drag until they genuinely got together. And then it was kinda cute. The way he would be honest with her and look at her yada yada,, yes very cute. But then it started to drag again and I couldn't stand it anymore. The plot started to go all over the place and nothing could continue to pull me in. I used to like her friends but they started to get boring too.
The side couple is even worse. Kept skipping their scenes mostly cause of that arrogant dude. They try to add a comical element using him but it didn't work for me. He was the most annoying character probably.

Favorite part: FL's character. She seemed real to me. And her group of friends are nice haha. I also LOVE Cai Ya Si (second lead) - he's a nice friend and I had heart eyes for him the whole time.
Least favorite part: Yi Xing's character. The plot dragging with too many episodes anyways.

It's been a while since I watched this drama... I remember it being really funny and I freaking loved the characters. The plot wasn't too bad, I usually don't like ridiculous stuff, but this was cute - I actually enjoyed the bickering so much ugh <3 This is the drama that got me into Yoon Shi Yoon~ HIS ACTING HERE WAS AMAZING. I liked the FL too probably cause she's strong-headed. The scenes between the two had me LOLing.

I've had the OST "Dreaming" in my little mp3 player since 2014 and now it's on my phone haha-

Kinda disappointed in the ratings people gave it though,, try it out on your own and see if you like it!

This is one of those "if you're okay with a mindless plot" dramas. It's lighthearted, has a very pretty cast, and doesn't care about the plot too much.
If you're like me and can't stand it when there's too many cliche things and dumb plot lines then skip it. If you're like everyone else here who can somehow stand the random flowers and rainbows the drama shoves down your throat, go ahead and watch~ But I gotta say the ML is super hot and actually kinda cool in the first few episodes,, and the FL is cute and quirky,, it's why I watched 11 episodes and then quit...

By cliche scenes, I mean when the ML keeps picking up the FL bride and groom style all the time for no reason, is too over-protective, always saves the day etc etc. FL sometimes takes her own stand but its not enough. Better than some others I've seen though, especially the first quarter was good. I like the whistling ost in the beginning too~

WOW the directing, acting and plot is all very well done.
This is a thriller/drama/revenge drama. The FL is headstrong and we get to root for her through this journey of "do we trust them or not?" This is gonna make your blood boil but in a good way.

Everyone is itching to see what might happen next so I suggest you watch this now because you might be spoiled later on when things get messier!! It'll ruin the fun!! In any which way, then do not read comments or watch videos about this drama, just binge it.

EDIT: finished it!! AHHHH

So far I love it. The FL and ML are lovable. They have a lot of cute moments too. The theme is ice related sports and university. I also usually like dramas where the leads bicker a lot and have a love-hate relationship. I also really like the ML and his roommates. It's not too cringe and the characters have their own color and goals. The backstory moments are cute as well - I love how they added those to the end of each episode, its really cute.

I'd totally give it a try if I were you. The OST at the end of the episode is SUPER good, try listening to it!

I'll fix my review once I complete the drama :)

EDIT: I haven't finished this. The drama started to drag lol. But most people like it so see if you enjoy it too. The first half was worth watching.

I actually really enjoyed this. Although I got frustrated with the main leads once or twice, it wasn't a lot and it's still amazing. The side characters are all likable and there's a lot of LOL moments that I enjoyed. The dialogue too. It's understandable why the FL made her decisions about her relationship - especially when you get to see the reactions of people around them. Society isn't nice about certain things. It's a happy ending though. I wish the FL's brother got a better ending though, it was glossed over.
