There's volume 2 that came out last year that just hasn't been fan translated yet (I own the Japanese manga volumes).…
Well, the "dead fish kisses" actually happens in the manga, too. After all, Sui has to take it all in that for the first time in his life, he has someone genuinely going after him. And this is despite the fact that he got outed gay and has to be on alert 24/7 for not just his own sanity but also to not make his classmates uncomfortable with his presence. And of course, again, since it's Japan, wouldn't be too surprised with the upkeep of censorship.

Overall, I'm really hoping they'll adapt stuff from volume 2. Since volume 2 doesn't really have explicit moments compare to volume 1. As volume 2 focuses more on Sui's and Harutora's growth as individuals while navigating their relationship.

There's volume 2 that came out last year that just hasn't been fan translated yet (I own the Japanese manga volumes). And there isn't concrete info of how many actual episodes we'll get so I think MDL is just listing it at normally 10 episodes as a place holder. And if it does get 10 episodes or so, there's more than enough content for it from volume 2.

As someone already said, the intimacy scenes are explicit but considering it's JBL, they may censor via doing just lighter stuff or changing things up a bit. So as a fan of this series, I'm curious to see how things will go.

Hi, I own the manga (in Japanese since I've move onto learning the language just so I can read non-localized manga)…
Yes, I think it's safe to assume that the series is currently complete at 2 volumes since Amekiri-sensei gave us fans a bonus for free on their x/twitter account of a 2 page with Sui and Harutora set at "6 years later" after volume 2 came out. (These were publicaly shown at an exhibition but Sensei wanted everyone to also see so they posted on their account.)

Hi, I own the manga (in Japanese since I've move onto learning the language just so I can read non-localized manga) and can confirm that it has a total of 2 volumes. The 2nd volume just came out last year and it does give us more info and wrap things up extra nicely. (As far as I know it just hasn't been fans translated yet.)

As for the drama, I haven't seen any concrete info yet in how many actual episodes there will be but if they decide to adapt all the way to volume 2, there would be enough content for 10 episodes or so for sure!

On Hold on, Harutora-kun 10 days ago
Title Hold on, Harutora-kun Spoiler
It started off strong and pretty much followed the manga so far. It's a bit sad that they sorta removed the part of Sui getting actually sexually harassed by his fricken classmates after he got outed as gay. The amount of anger in me that I wanted to go through the book to slap them to keep their hands off of Sui. While it's not really a spoiler to say this but it's one of the reasons why Sui is so alone is because his classmates do not want to befriend him for being gay. Sui's resilient on brushing it off and protecting himself in his own way to mentally stay strong can be a whole other essay (especially, in a society like Japan).

The first episode's pacing felt a little off since some time skip did happen when they met to when Sui cheered/assisted on Harutora's training days to get a jersey/spot on the basketball team but nevertheless, my expectations were fulfilled. Harutora fell in love from the very beginning and it showed so very well on screen. Even more so, the actor for Sui is so spot on because Sui unknowingly speaks a lot with his eyes for his emotions. Plus, I love that they showed Sui making the honey lemon for Harutora since it wasn't shown in the manga. I hope the live adaption continues on a strong note.

Person Yoo Hai Jin
I grew up seeing the films he was in and he always delivered even when he is doing a main or supporting role. I know that he's addressed how he was turned away due to him not having the "face visuals" but I'm glad that he was able to find his place for acting in movies. Congrats to him on winning the well deserved Grand Prize at the 62nd Baeksang Arts Awards for "The King's Warden". If dramas don't come to him after this, well it's their loss because at least the movie industry has embraced him.

Title Colony
I enjoyed the movie despite it feeling rushed since I couldn't get attached to majority of the characters especially the ones that died to no fault of their own (there's a disabled character that contributed to the best of their ability and didn't sit around doing nothing). I feel like it definitely would've been better off being a series for a longer run time to expand on the story and also the characters. At times the jumps between scenes sort of threw me off as I would suddenly realize, "Oh, we've change focus?" Overall, it's worth checking out on your down time at least once since it wasn't just the usual zombie stuff we get since I always like seeing the "concept of the science behind it" of the cause touched upon and shown. Plus, the movie does have it's peak moments throughout and while even I was able to guess some of the stuff, it didn't take away the enjoyment of the movie.

On Perfect Crown 14 days ago
When I first read the summary, it sorta reminded me of "The Last Empress". I've been really wanting to see another show again that had a modern timeline of a Korean Royal family monarchy hence I watched "Perfect Crown". As much as I love and admire IU as the next person, it felt like she only carried the show despite there being a male lead as well. There was questions that I wanted answers to but some things never got addressed. The comedy sometimes fell flat to me among the serious stuff that was happening in the story. Along with the pacing that felt weird at some places. Nevertheless, I did enjoy the show but it didn't scratch the itch I had hoping of seeing IU in performing Royal duties. After this show though, it's making me hope to see her in a Korean historical drama again or even just another series involving the monarchy. While I feel like the high rating for this show is simply due to the the popularity of the actors, it definitely at best should be a max 7/10 but even I wouldn't rank it that.

On Hold on, Harutora-kun 27 days ago
Gosh, I can't believe I just found out that this sweet, wholesome and emotionally beautiful series is getting a live adaption!! This is one of my favorites from collecting the manga and BLCD to the official plushies of Sui and Harutora. I wonder how far they'll adapt to since it only has 2 volumes. As a manga reader, I know it's not good to come with high expectations sometimes when it comes to JP BL live adaptions.

Especially, when it's a series that does have very intimate scenes that plays a point to the story but if they do it right by this series, even if there are censorships or changes made, I hope it delivers on a high note. Both the manga and BLCD moved me to tears every time I go through them. Therefore, I'm hoping this live adaption captures the essence of Sui's and Harutora's feelings like the media before it.

EDIT: The PV showed a lot of moments that were adapted from the manga so it's giving me a lot of high expectations! <3

On The Journey to Killing You Oct 30, 2025
If you've read enough yakuza BL manga, you'll know that it's never a pretty world as it's filled with hierarchy, clash of The Old and The New, death always looming and questions of one's life. I could tell from the manga into the live adaption that the goal wasn't to hit you with anything new but "just a view point" and it succeeded in that. Kudos to the actors, they did the best with what they were given.

One of those live adaptions that's worth checking out even if the execution fell a little short. It does enough justice to the manga which is also short in itself but expands a little more than what the manga could've give. The mangaka did say volume 2 is coming but I don't know if I'll be reading it since this was a series that I enjoyed checking out but not to where I'd be picking it up again.

From the trailer thus far that's been shown, I'm excited but also hoping the adaption does well since it is a bit more of a "mature" series so I won't be surprised if some changes are made. As for the casting though since this is a BL, I'm hoping it just won't be Wada Masanari who carries this live adaption since he has the more acting experience and from the stuff I've seen him in, this guy is one of those stage actors that also really shines when on film.
