It was implied a few times during the first few episodes that this was her motive. The interview was an andditional incentive. It was brought up again during her conversation with Shi Yue when they were at the concert. They’ve been following the same plot trajectory of the leads as in the novel so far, so I think this will still be the catalyst. It’s kind of an important plot development so I don’t see them doing away with it. The ex is appearing the same amount as he did in the novel. She definitely doesn’t have any lingering feelings for him. It was more out of principles and anger that she decided to do it in the beginning. The lines are blurred for her now and she doesn’t realize that she’s starting to like Shi Yan for real. Even while reading the novel you can see that Shuyi was starting to have real feelings for him, but he doesn’t have access to her inner monologues like the readers do. So I don’t blame him for over thinking things when that part of the plot comes up. He’s an easily jealous and petty guy, but I don’t see the blind dates being that big of an issue for him to be so mad at her. They’re not technically official at the moment. There was a memorable line that he says to her after the truth came out that I’d be disappointed if they cut it out.

That she’s pursuing him out of revenge on her ex. So he starts questioning if she was faking it this whole time and basically felt like their whole relationship was a lie.

Not gonna happen. When he was getting ready to confess(he wanted to make an event of it), the truth came out.

I'm so happy to see all the scenes I enjoyed in the novel being portrayed on screen... like the noodle soup place. It's fun comparing what you imagine in your head versus what's set up. Although in my mind, the place wasn't so brightly lit when I imagined it 😂

And for once, a CEO without childhood trauma, hidden illness, OCD tendencies or mommy/daddy issues lol.

It’s a notable character trait of his from the novel so they’re just trying to stay consistent. But I do agree that Wang Hedi’s looks are enhanced without the glasses.

She does have a very long standing crush on the 2nd ML. It isn’t until 70% of the novel did her and ML’s love story start picking up. Not sure how they’ll go about it in the drama though.

I foresee these two going head to head in the data charts. If the competition gets tough Mango might just be forced to fast track the rest of OFL pretty soon...

Writer Bai Lu wasn't a fan of tragic endings it seems, so I'm sure she'll give the rewrite a good one. That and iQIYI's "Love On" series always are good endings.

They tried to be slick with that butterfly effect though so you could interpret it as time traveling if you wanted to hehe... Ep 1 was really promising. I love the transitions. Totally lives up to expectations.

Rebirth in non-fantasy dramas aren't allowed so they had to add that in. I kind of prefer this over having one of the lives being a dream ala SoT, which will result in an insufferable OE.

🤣🤣 gosh I don’t want my DFQC and Changheng to have to battle for data. I love them both! Bai Lu fans are going to have to work double overtime to create data for both shows 😅 I thought they would at least wait until OFL was almost ending.

Not sure how they’ll go about it in the drama, but in the book the truth came out between the ex, new gf, and Shuyi in which the driver uncle was also present and realized what his niece was doing. He felt guilty that she was using Shi Yan’s reputation for personal gains and went to apologize to Shi Yan, where he revealed the whole situation. Shi Yan put two and two together from what he said with what Shuyi has been doing with him and realized the truth.

Although he's mad at her, he still can't help come to her side to care for her when she was all alone and ill 🥺❤️
