Nice Watch

This was a good easy watch even though most of the characters went crazy at some point; I did not find it angsty. Most of us are looking for happy endings when watching dramas. Yes, this one has a happy ending. In my opinion too happy. I think most of the crazies had it too easy at the end for the gravity of the things that they did, it would have been more satisfying if they were at least punished in some way. Though I did like how Noh Go Jin and Park Yang Tae became frenemies at the end.

I liked how Noh Go Jin and Lee Shin A's relationship developed, there was no push and pull, it was like go all out hating each other at the beginning - got it all out of the way, discovering that they like each other and from then stuck and supported each other despite everything - not even the two faced ex could come between them.

I liked the OST too :-)

Good short watch

What I liked about the drama here was that it did not really affect Harumi and Maiko’s relationship - no breaking up or big fights due to misunderstanding, or jealousy when the exes and the pasts appeared. They remained trusting of each other but it was also nice to see their insecurities and jealousies which was a natural reaction but they did not let it influence them in making irrational decisions.

Maiko’s two pasts were such annoying characters - I think the only ones that I didn’t particularly care for in the whole drama. But it was good to watch how Maiko and Harumi handled the situation.

Very Nice and Feel Good Watch

A very nice and feel good watch. It was so refreshing watching this drama. Despite being in an arranged marriage, Shin and Himari had respect and was considerate of each other from the very beginning. I really liked this aspect of the show. Their love had a good foundation, there were no big expectations, everything happened naturally. They truly cared for each other. I cried along the touching moments and smiled along the happy ones. Himari’s smile is so contagious.

What you WON’T see:
- Rude male lead
- No backbone female lead
- Unnecessary misunderstandings
- Bad acting
- Meddlesome parents
- Pretentious shyness after marriage
- Immature characters

Cute Main Couple

Decided to rate at 9 (I think I'm a generous rater hehe) anyways a 9 for me cause I enjoyed watching Lu Jing and Liang Chen. I liked how their relationship started, developed and how they finally were a couple. This would be the type of romance that you'd say only happen in dramas. Well, I don't care that's why I'm watching dramas :-) But despite that Lu Jing being a university student and younger than Liang Chen who also happens to be a famous singer, their relationship did not have any insecurities. They were on equal ground, equally in love with each other, equally shows affections when they feel it. Both have their own strength that complements the other. Anyways you can see I like them :-)

Soooo other than the above, I somehow felt disconnected to the story. I couldn't get why Shan Shan's character was so dramatic right up to almost the very end of the drama. Sun Bin Yu - was he supposed to be a comedic character? Hmm I get that he likes Shan Shan but their drama was almost annoying to me - this would be times when I check my phone when they are on screen. But I'll give him credit cause it was him who not intentionally brought Lu Jing and Liang Chen together.

And then there's Jia Yun who I felt was moving in slo mo everytime. I know his character was supposed to be this kind and caring best friend who is secretly in love with the female lead instead he just came out creepy and sneaky, at least he wasn't a bad guy and accepted defeat gracefully but even after then he continued to be in slo mo mode - was it because he was supposed to the calm and composed type?

Well the parents and grandparents were pretty cool at least and I liked that we don't have a manager who demanded the artist to break up with the guy. Oh and I think Lin Yi has become more manly and handsome :-)

This was the kind of drama I was looking for - light, romantic, a lot of cute moments, no villains, happy ending, I don't care if parts of it were unrealistic, this is a drama and what this type of dramas are all about - feel good.

I liked Kairi throughout this drama - I didn't really find him mean even when he was in his devil mode. Once he figured out his feelings for Nanase he was just sweet and straightforward (in his own way) about it. No being indecisive, no misunderstandings - he is cute when he is jealous.

Nanase was an okay character. I found her clumsiness annoying but she made up of for it on other parts of the story so all good.

In two episodes I was thinking, oh no! Are we going through all that cliche of having a lot triangle and heroic sacrifice - nope all resolved by the end of the episode and it just made me like Kairi more :-)

However, I did find Ryuko and Nishi a very awkward couple. I don't have anything about older female/younger male couples, but they were really awkward to watch, I couldn't get into the feeling of them being a couple. It just didn't click..., maybe it the manga they were? But not in this drama.

Happy feelings after watching - rewatch yes, definitely.....I will be having withdrawal symptoms for a while with this drama.

Lies and Fake Pregnancy

Lies and fake pregnancy. Yes, it lived up to its title and tag, this was what the drama what all about – almost all the way to the end. I liked it in the beginning, really struggled from about ep 6. The story seemed to go round and round. Two characters made my blood boil every time they came on screen – one, annoying and whinny the other one annoying, scheming and stupid. The ending tried to make up for everything. Yes, a good ending for everyone – good deserved the good, bad deserved the bad. However instead of feeling all happy and fuzzy about it, I had this at-last-it-has-ended kind of feeling. At least they made the ending good after all that.

So what kept me going? I wanted to find out when and how all the lies where going to get exposed. So I guess whoever wrote this did succeed in keeping the audience watching LOL. There were some likeable characters, most notable ones for me:

ML parents – they were tough but kind hearted. The duke was cool. He had a way of getting things done while not upsetting and still be loving to his wife.

Mao – the loyal sidekick, comedic relief

Mei Xiang – the loyal maid

Ye Zhi Han – the loyal friend

Li Hong Bin – he was honestly the one who kept me going on with this drama. Looking forward to see more dramas from Xia Ning Jun.

Don’t let me review keep you from watching this drama though. This is just my personal opinion. A lot viewers do like it a lot, so this may just be your cup of tea :-)

Binge watch worthy

I wanted something to binge watch for the stay at home weekend. This was it, I finished it in one go.

I liked the pace and the characters. ML and FL know what they were getting into but rather than being all awkward with each other they made an effort to become a real married couple. It is based on a manga so the story is manga like, I didn’t mind I was here for the fluffy stuff, couple acted cute towards each other.

I liked Itagaki Mizuki. I didn’t realize he was so young but he portrayed salaryman Miura Manatsu quite well. He is a good actor and has done a lot of work already. Looking forward to more of his dramas and movies.

Feel good two thumbs up drama

This was such a feel good show. The drama could easily been made angsty but they presented the story from a positive perspective. There was balance; it was not all “rainbows and roses”. There were worries and insecurities, but it was very refreshing to see the characters being honest with each other, they communicated and left it up to the other person to decide for themselves. Everyone was mature.

I liked Momoko Adachi’s character, she was strong-willed and confident but not over bearing. Very well portrayed by Arimura Kasumi.

It was nice to see Manato’s confidence grow and become more comfortable around people as the series went on.

Kazuki and Miyuki were too cute. The Adachi family was enjoyable to watch, their interaction, how they respected and supported each other.

Ending put a smile on my face. Two thumbs up.

Cute couple

I finished this drama because Seo Gong Myung and Goo Se Ra. I loved their interactions and how natural and comfortable they were with each other in their relationship. This is the first time that I watched Nana and Park Sung Hoon in a drama and I think they did well. I hope to see more dramas from both.

I am not much into political dramas so wasn't into that part of the story much. It was quite frustrating that Goo Se Ra did not get any credit for her work, it was always snatched away from her in the end, but I think it was realistic as she was not a politician and quite naive on how politics worked.

So going back to Gong Myung and Se Ra, I liked how they supported each other throughout everything.

Good Light Watch

Likes:
- Darren Chen :-) ..... okay moving along
- Wen Bin's mother did not turn out to be evil
- Shen Qiao Di, Shen Wei Lan's brother, wasn't actually a jerk
- Meng Qi was actually a dork
- Meng Na Na was a ditzy love rival - though it was not exactly rivalry as everything was her imagination haha
- Love triangle did not get complicated
- Grandma Matchmaker

Dislikes:
- I found FL acting a little too exaggerated
- My pet peeve in any drama - deliberately hurting the other "because they love them". Thank goodness it did not last. ML did not fall for that drama - yes!

All in all this was a good light watch. I've become a Darren Chen fan so I hope to see more of him in dramas.

A good length period drama

It has the typical conspiracy, treason, revenge plot that you would expect in a period drama. I am glad that it is only 20 episodes (I watched on Netflix) long so not as draggy as those that are truly 40 episodes and above. I can't pinpoint what exactly made me stay throughout the show. The costumes were beautiful , especially Prince Dowon's. I had favourite characters (and the actors who played them):

Prince Dowon, Yi Rim - Cha Eun Woo did really well in this drama. I think he is a good actor, he was believable. He went from being silly, in love, serious. He cries prettily too LOL. Kidding aside, I think he did well and does not suck as an actor like some of the comments I've read here.

Goo Hae-ryung - Shin Se Kyung, I like her character here. I like her banter with Prince Dowon and how she always manages to stump him. I like how she doesn't play innocent and dumb. In her subtle way she shows how in love she is with Prince Dowon - and his reactions are so cute. Oh I skipped all the parts wherein he had to have an arranged marriage with someone else - I didn't care, didn't want to know and didn't want to go through all that.

Officer Min Woo - such a straight arrow. He somehow gave me comfort that no betrayal to the historians would go past him.

Crown Prince Yi Jin - I liked his smile what can I say. I like how he treats Yi Rim and was super scared that he would turn out to be a villain - glad I was wrong,

Heo Sam Bo and the 2 court girls - a fun trio

The Historians - what a wacky bunch. I thought they would be bullies and would make the female historian's live hell throughout the show. They actually turned out to be a loyal lot where it counts. One historian, Hyun Kyung Mook did annoy me ;-/

All in all it was a good watch. The ending was fitting. I did wish for more though........ :-)

Enjoyed it a lot

Kurosawa and Adachi, such a cute couple not to mention such eye candies :-)

Machida Keita and Akaso Eiji portrayed their characters really well - the cool Kurosawa and adorkable Adachi. Kurosawa’s subtle happy face whenever Adaji is the first to initiate was so cute, the little expressions conveys his feelings.

The drama was focused on their love story, from the surprised discovery to their promise to be together. There was some drama mixed into all the cuteness which made the feelings more realistic.

I enjoyed the drama and am rooting for Kurosawa and Adachi’s happy ever after.

Cute and Funny!

It was a light watch. I enjoyed it a lot. When you think things will start getting serious there will always be something that will be pull it back to keeping the light tone of the drama without giving it a slap stick vibe.

I liked that the evil plots were not dragged on and the evil plotters - Second Prince - were evil but played in a comedic way, except for that princess from the different state who I did not like to the end.

I liked the romance. Tu Siyi and Lin Zhen Er were strong and trusted each other from beginning to end. No big drama of sacrifices and misunderstandings.

I first watched Tang Xiao Tan (Daddi) in Put Your Head on My Shoulder - I didn't like his character there and didn't like him there. So I have been putting off watching this drama for so long but watched him in Way Back into Love and he looked so good there :-) that I thought I'd give this one a try and glad I did. It was funny and he looks good here as well ":-) Will wait for his upcoming drama.

Totally Enjoyed It

This was cute and a very relaxing watch. Finished it in one sitting.

No evil characters. No big fights with bullies. No complicated love triangles. No angsty moments.

Yes to supportive friends and family.

Miyamura was an interesting character. He was a loner, but he wasn't timid. He has a good family environment. He is responsible. Once he came out of his shell he was funny and sweet. He had the typical emotions of a high schooler - being in love, being jealous, being possessive. The clean cut good bad boy. He looked cool with tied back hair too.

I like how Hori wasn't pretentious. She is genuinely in love with Miyamura and very protective and supportive of him. Hori's family towards Miyamura is so cute. He has free access to their house!

I look forward to more shows from Suzuka Ouiji. I first watched him in MIU404 he is good and I'm sure he will grow into a great actor.

Enjoyed it a lot

It was a great watch. I really liked how Lin Se He and Bai Xiao Xin were together. The cute little moments sometimes make me wonder if it was part of the script or ad libs by the the actors especially from Zhang Yu Jian. Like there was one scene that we wouldn't let go of her hand for the whole night, hands do get sweaty so he as if it's the most natural thing in the world wipes his and her palms on his suit jacket all the while not letting go of her hands and continuing on with his lines. These little gestures are so cute and funny to watch. Even though Lin Se He was originally cold and aloof but when he started liking Bai Xiao Xin he was all out with his feelings and none of that nonsense of having a secret relationship. I liked how Bai Xiao Xin wasn't the dumb shy clumsy type. She knew she liked Lin Se He and she shows it. They were just good together, no awkward acting at all.

Not much to say about the supporting characters, they were there as support really. The story revolved around our two main characters.
