I had some realization of SY's actions... I think that after sometime, he does all this things to reason out his emotions not because he doesn't want to accept it but rather he wanted to see some acceptance from HJ. At some point, if we look past the ridiculous and the silly, we will see the earnestness of his feelings and he sort of wanted some assurance, as you mentioned and what we know he had not been in love, so that when he acts on it HJ will reciprocate because from what we had been seeing since day 1 HJ is set on JK and had been looking into SY's feelings as something unserious.

Oh and i think we are seeing some serious break up notice from SY to NY.

The spell book and now the curse book will have fallen into place in the plotline if the backstory of their past lives was integrated even if not totally into the early episodes but we cannot connect the things that happened in the past like the karma Shaman EW mentioned, how HJ is the one that will cure SY. We can only speculate but with little to no info we are left with wild speculation.

Don't get me wrong, I love ShinHong and their blossoming love affair. I can watch SY forever with his puppy love yes on his sleeve but then we are given these elements and we can only be satisfied watching when we make sense of them.

I am confused a bit about the spells tho. I think we can be clear SY was healed or at least the spell had an effect on him but with the preview where he is hospitalized what can we make out of it. I think SY already felt the stirrings of emotion the first time he met HJ. The connection between the two was strengthened when HJ opened and started practicing the spell. When HJ used the love spell, it resonated to SY, the red hand appeared and he got into an accident. This seems to be about the intertwined fate, the destiny of ShinHong that cannot be severed.

The love spell is also confusing because I think it did not work but it seemed to have. As to the water in the tumblr, for sure SY drank it but the gardenman and team leader did not. Who would in their right mind drink from a found bottle. With this in mind, yes it seems love spell worked because if it did not would mean the cure disease spell did not as well or the spell workings is selective?

I guess we would get some sense next week of this spell-curse hullabaloo.

ikr! the establishment of their present and past lives so lacking . the story could have been a lot more interesting if the interconnection was revealed bit by bit but by end of ep8 we are left wanting.

I am also annoyed with SY at this point because as much as we know that he liked HJ and did all the pursuing, he did not make any move to sever his relationship with NY, not even telling his parents to stop the wedding at the very least. I do hope we were not just shown that he broke up with NY. I wanted him to man up to his emotions and actions.

Kudos to HJ tho, she had been trying to make sense of everything and not just fall into SY's charms.

ugh! this is why i hate watching currently airing dramas, you're given a cliffhanger and have to wait for a week. so for now, i think we're given some pause for the ShinHong push and pull. I think it's clear to both of them with themselves that they have feelings for each other. They just won't act on it at the moment since SY have a girlfriend.

When SY said about being loyal, I almost cried out Loyal my foot, your girlfriend is a cheater. Shaman EW senses things i guess cause she said being loyal alone is the dumbest thing... SY is the only one loyal. (she could also mean it in another way)

I was thinking HJ will go check on SY but we won't know until next week. Aish this is killing me. I'm also curious what happened there with the garden owner.

Now we are starting with the entry of the past lives possibly the interconnection. At this point I could say the love spell did not work at all but the Cure Disease spell worked. I am also curious why SY is in the hospital. Did the "separation" triggered for him to get sick? Wednesday come faster!

yeah that too... she is just there, no connection it all. there is nothing between them, he just doesn't care at all

so while waiting for episode 8 i'm rewatching and my I just love how sassy Jang Shin Yu is!

The Red Hand is part of the curse or the curse itself. IMO it disappeared because HJ started using the spell book, ergo, connected with her past life, the shaman. We can see that as soon as she started with the love spell, it affected SY hence the accident. Both of them are connected and with whatever happened in the past. It's like in this lifetime, they will get full circle thus eliminating the karmic effect of what triggered before.

SY's illness got cured or starting to get cured because of the establishment of the connection between him and HJ and when they did the Cure Disease Spell.

it's quite obvious that SY is already deep into HJ and vice versa.

i hope so too! this is a gem, i am even rewatching it now while waiting for the next episode.

the longing and pining is just too much for me my heart aches a bit every time. I'm glad a lot of us feel like this it means this show is very effected and RW is a very good.

regarding the illness, my take on it mellowed a bit cuz if we can recall no one really knew SY's illness except for the shaman. HJ just know he is sick but as to how and what she also doesn't know.

I'm all thumbs down on NY, since high school till now, nah i don't think we will see any change at all.

see i am impressed with HJ as well, i don't see her as someone like a jokester who's made fun of herself in front of JG. (the covering him from the thrown water is instinctive to someone you fell emotions with.

I think HJ is on her way to realizing openly her feelings to SY and same with SY. Let's enjoy the ride, more angst, a little longing and pining and more love on our way, we are not yet half way through the show.

this kind of drama actually comes around once every one or two years, we're lucky

as messy as it is as long as it tugs right through my heartstrings it's a winner for me

So far I have read some comments about LHJ. First, up to the last episode, I don't think she had made actions that would allow others to make fun of her. Her blushing IMO is natural, it can occur and it's triggered by her emotions, it's now like she blushes out of nowhere. You must remember this is a drama, a fantasy at that, ofc her blushing is a cgi/sfx which utmost will out comical at least. HJ is an independent person on her own and has her own emotional issues like feeling outcast.

On the issue of JSY yes i felt like he should have acted on his feelings already and that includes getting affected when SFL slapped HJ. Like many times I had been frustrated for him to man up to his emotions already but we are getting there, we're only 6 episodes in. Taking into account his family status, background, he is kinda celebrity on his own I feel like it weirds him out how he would have fallen with HJ when his gf is like someone popular and rich as well (tho not reason enough) that is why he tries to find all sorts of reason for his emotions but again we must remember we are watching a drama and a fantasy so let's wait for the feelings and actions to unfold. He is already wearing a puppy eyes on his sleeve.

tho that was a serious mistake telling SML about JSY condition, that's something I can't forgive for this show. I just hope LHJ just said JSY is sick and no details.

wow the cheating MF )@(&$% SFL! it's obvious now she just wants JSY to be her trophy boyfriend-husband. i just hate her. her backstory of divorce and what she did in hs to LHJ means she is a real mean bean. i just hope JSY cuts off any connection with her soonest.

Boy! I am glad JSY finally realizing that he's fallen with LHJ already. I mean we saw it but coming from him, it made my heart skip a beat. His puppy eyes just glued on his sleeve every time LHJ is around. It would be great if they get together asap.

LHJ is in a confused state now, given the spell, the denials of JSY but we know she's fallen already. She's not blushing with SML and told him she is just comfortable with him. Now that kiss is the key finally. It will open up the leads to their emotions and face them.

a side note. I don't think it's unusual for LHJ to be blushing when triggered with her emotions.
