I found the events of Episodes 6 and 7 a bit absurd. Honestly, the sect that is supposed to be the most powerful…
The drama is targeted towards a young (female) audience, not older age group, so you'll see a lot of good-looking boys and girls, not great older thespians. Just my guess.
When FL sides with and protects ML, it's only because he hasn't threatened any of her family or clan or that mountain residence of 6 sects. ML hides who he really is, she knows that, and knows he is a mysterious, quiet, capable fighter, but she never thought he'd be from the demon side, let alone an heir to the throne. In the first 7 episodes he does not interfere with any of the 6 sects or their members. Instead, he wanted some info from the library for his own agenda and helped FL find what she wanted and helps her on suspicious activities that threaten the lives and stability of the 6 clans.
FL always end their conversations by acknowledging that he will leave once he gets well or when it's unsafe to be here, and that she won't see him again. I don't know about the romance part - because FL is very objective and logical, and maybe ML is interested in her but I don't see a romance even from him yet - he seems protective of her because she's a capable bright girl who saved him - he knows she's set to marry someone else - I see them as partners right now, a team.
The 6 sect elders are not good people, they have lied to the young 'martials', the FL and rest of young 'soldiers', about demons and sects - especially the reasons for the last massacre from demon side, the relationship of FL's aunt and demon king and the circumstances of his death and her death. They are unjust and hate demon side just because they are different and equally powerful. Demon king had his own reasons for killing sect people and FL's aunt was sent to kill him because the sect elders knew he would not kill his beloved (they were lovers). So who is right and who is wrong? The 6 sects and their ways have always been wrong.
The current tension in the demon world is only because of the fight between the 2 heirs - ML and his cousin. And that fight has spilled onto sect turf. But other than that, they don't use and abuse their own people the way these sect elders do.
Im liking the friendship/relationship of FL with all the guys. Especially the ml. Its done very well without being…
Yup, and she makes it clear that she's friendly and everyone has a place in her life - I really liked the matter-of-fact reply to ML over her marriage plans - she's very logical and has saved plenty of people in first 7 episodes than any man, frankly.
So you're telling me these 2 are aware that they can go back to real world by dying? Im not even sure if that's…
In the webnovel they could always go back (by killing themselves or dying at the hands of someone else), and in the drama, in earlier episodes when FL chats with ML about 'when he got there' he explicitly says he can just send her to a 'door' from where she'll go back and she says no. And yes, in the drama, they can go back when they die. That's what will happen to ML: He'll find himself sitting in his high school once he dies in this place (in 2016, and was a fan of this book reading it.) He'll live and work to 'catch up' to FL as a young woman, resisting the urge to meet her before she 'travels into the book' and has 'memories of living with him'. She will have a natural death, unlike his, and wake up in the same train that she was taking back to her apartment in 2026. He, an adult, of course, waits for her all night outside her apartment and she doesn't show up because she'd forgotten her key password, she went to sleep at her parents' place. The next day she starts to look for him and meets him. The End!
There is no task that these two had or have. I don't know why they even cry when someone dies or worry when there's a crisis in this fictional place. Nobody is real in a fictional book except for the 3 people transported into it!!! It's just that the FL comes to believe it as an alternate universe because she and ML changed the book's arc and the trajectory of their own lives in the book.

Can someone tell me why reviews are not showing up for this drama on this page? I did not like the book nor the drama & dropped it after a few episodes & wrote a summary on opinion days ago - it's on my profile page, but still not visible here. So is MyDramaList keeping reviews off if they are unfavorable?
I'm curious if anyone has read the novel for this drama and if there were any scenes you wish were in the adaptation…
You can find the things different from the book in reviews posted above (including mine). Basically, the entire characterization, arc and storylines of the 2 main leads is different and very basic/ general / monotonous in the book, for e.g. FL was nothing more than some bird-brained fan who just wanted to get closer to the ML (MVP/ main cast of VR LBE). I liked the drama. In it, she just wants to beat him in the game and be one-up in that way. And he is not vain or full of himself like he is in the book. And I liked the way virtual reality was incorporated in the drama. In the book, she works as an interpreter in a hospital with surgeons. In drama, she is in the same field as the ML. etc. etc.
Korean viewers need to grow up - they bully their artists. Ten years of wait and its not releasing this year! tvN should've stood by JJW and the drama.
I dropped it because they are stuck in past, and not going back to reality till the last chapter. I've done a video essay review of this drama (and the novel it is based on) and how it is different from the book as well as an analysis of this genre of escapist fantasy and other dramas (love between lines, the judge returns, when destiny brings the demon, etc.). Kindly do share your opinion, whether you agree with the thesis or not:
