To ban or cancel or shame a person for what they may or may not have done as a teenager is ridiculous. South Korean audience and netizens need to grow up. This feels like cyber bullying - same thing that led to the death of Lee Sun Kyun. People make mistakes. JJW paid for the crime. He is a fabulous character actor and has been part of award-winning projects in his middle age. I loved Signal and hope that all this gets resolved soon and that JJW takes back his 'retirement' and works for a long time.
Both leads are excellent in their roles and a hoot, the direction and editing is good and lift the comic scenes. Midway I thought the 'demon' was actually SeonJi's inner child (stuck in time period when her mom died) and GG will fall for her, but well, the big reveal was okay too and the ending is fine. I liked the film.
Ignoring the way in which it starts (the drugged forced s** scene), this is a solid story. I think the ending ultimately was that the marshal died in the war, because the last picture in the album is of SW pregnant and then we see the "Titanic" ending (grandma SW dying and reuniting with the young Marshal). But to see the happy grandma SW was a joy.
In the last scene of the series, of course CEO SJ also remembered TY, because they inserted a clip of him as an emperor meeting the teary-eyed 'woman of his dreams', and then CEO SJ smiles, but even if he was about to say something snarky, we know they'll end up together following the same pattern of each timeline. There's a scene in every arc that both ultimately 'get their memories back' so I don't doubt it happened in the modern arc. It would've been nice to have more of their interaction in the modern world (did he cancel his flight or take her with him?) especially since this was SJ's first time in her timeline, but it's fine. I hope the production knows that this was a good well-received fast-paced show with so many different arcs for the couple and great sensuous scenes between them.
I am skipping Ep. 26-30 entirely to watch a bit of the SJ mortal-emperor bit next in which TY will still be demon-queen, and will tune in for Ep. 33 to see SJ & TY in the modern-day arc (hopefully it will be AT LEAST half an hour of them interacting, talking, bonding, in the present day). In every other realm, they've died young right after meeting each other, so frankly, now they better live long (as reborn humans or immortals with spirit fires).
Any link to the slow song that plays during the initial betrayal (makeout scene) in Ep. 5 when he leaves her & takes the key? It's not on youtube with the rest of OST.
Watched the 1st episode. The credits in the beginning are well done and the song that plays with the end credits is pretty good. The synopsis given above is strange, because the first episode isn't like that. It opens up like Harrison Ford's 'Presumed Innocent', but the novel that this drama is based on ('Blind' by Mu Yao, untranslated version is on douban) is about a blind man manipulating everyone, so let's see how it goes. I think the "girlfriend" (who had cosmetic surgery) tried to frame the husband by setting the scene at her apartment (things in disarray, not taking her inhaler to save herself). Or she felt guilty about something. She already had suicidal ideation so doing something like this would be up her alley. But since she had plastic surgery and no previous photos of her exist, maybe it is all connected to their high school phase? Her mother does mention that the husband married 'early' so maybe it all begins in their childhood and end result is seen in middle age.
And of course, everyone has secrets. I just hope those secrets aren't run of the mill, same-old, same-old stuff.
After finishing episode 24 I am still missing their interactions from the earlier episodes. I know, she needs…
Yup. Even though I like the boundaries TY has set and SJ has respected, but the fun is not there because SJ is a stranger in this timeline who she was in love with "18 years ago" and 'falling in love' with him again in this timeline feels forced to me. Like she has to because she once was and because he's a completely devoted puppy. In Ep.23-24, I actually forwarded all scenes of the villains and SML and Snake Ruling. Not interested in any of them. And there are just 9 episodes left with 2-3 arcs to be wrapped up.
As i said recently you can check the symbol as a spoiler.it seems they will kill tingyan in the end so she can…
@raisins @moise @shaoyaoville @tom there are scenes of TY & SJ in the modern current world - in trailer as well as in online spoiler videos - after TY wakes up from the car accident, she meets SJ (who is either the owner of the other car or her boss in the present day). Maybe she'll think she has woken up from a weird dream, but we deserve to see happy scenes in present day without any danger to either of them, preferably without amnesia.
1) I feel 33 episodes are too few: I want SJ interacting with Tingyan in her modern world - which is Tingyan's real world and real life. All this immortal / demon / emperor world stuff is not Tingyan's original life or world or problem. And that's the point missing from all of their interactions - the truth about where she's actually from. The novel sells the idea that 2 people are 'meant for each' no matter which world they may be in. Where's the convo about her actual world?
2) Plus, without the memories, Tingyan has a totally different personality in the demon arc, it's a bit of a forced romance / seduction - they just have a 'soul connection'. Spring bath tub sessions are great but there's no genuine happiness. They have no interaction to 'get to know each other' in the demon world, everything is awkward and gloomy, time is running out, doom is coming. At least that's how I feel right now.

More of the bath scene: keeps getting reposted by the x account holder, so the link address may change.
