OK, I was responding to only what you wrote, not what you meant. I was also responding to a very common complaint, which your post seems to suggest. Not to mention, if you don't have Viki, why would it be relevant to your waiting for new episodes to be released? Why bring Viki up at all?

Well, for one thing, TFJ is currently being broadcast on Chinese national TV. (Viki is keeping up with the ongoing broadcast schedule.) Should you get preference over the one billion plus domestic audience?

Not to mention, if Viki were to release all the episodes immediately, what interest or incentive would it give anyone to subscribe to Tencent/WeTV (or Disney+) apps & streaming services?

Last but not least, why would any other international OTT platforms ever purchase distribution rights from Tencent (or any other C-ent company) in the future if Viki gives away their proprietary content right away?

This is common (business) sense, but each & every day, some MDL user or other asks the same question about each & every C-drama. The present schedule is what it is for good reason.

Unfortunately, I don't think MDL has any interest or incentive to prohibit rating unreleased episodes.

Controversial ratings drive traffic (clicks & comments) to this site. At the end of the day, it's all about the bottom line for MDL.

It doesn't have to be a zero-sum game. Both C & K dramas can do well.

Cherry-picking at its finest! Not surprisingly, you conveniently choose to leave out ZYR's two highest rated dramas: WIFTY (9.0) & Twelve Letters (8.8) because they don't fit the narrative that you're trying to spin.

With the possible exception of Wang XingYue, I'd regard ZYR as arguably the best C-drama ML 25 & under. But that doesn't mean I should assume some kind of anti-ZYR conspiracy going on at MDL. Does he have anti-fans? Sure. But who doesn't?

The whole "if X deserves this rating, then Y deserves that rating" thing is silly. Even if all MDL users share the same exact tastes & preferences, ratings still wouldn't be transitive. No one rates the entire MDL drama list holistically. Not to mention, different people are rating different dramas at different times & places. Otherwise, Nirvana in Fire should be 9.9+.

To be honest, why you thought MDL ratings were ever "credible" is beyond me. It's fairly obvious that anyone can rate whatever they want however they want, so why get all worked up over it? No one in the C-ent industry does, assuming they even know or care that MDL exists.

All the ratings are legit. Some MDL users built their own time machines.
