You're the one who brought up children. Not me. You're the one who pointed out that there's no war going on right now. Not me.
Only a warmonger thinks that "serving your country " is the only rights-based issue that matters. Typical American!!
The USA justified the kidnapping & enslavement of Africans the genocide of Native Americans, the invasion of Mexico (Mexican American War), the invasion of Cuba (Spanish American War), the Vietnam War, the invasion of Iraq (under false pretenses), etc. in the name of "serving your country. " More like serving the US military-industrial complex!!

Didn't your mama teach you to play nicely without name-calling? You say you "love" women, so you should listen to your mama...assuming she actually identifies as a woman!

Children have more rights than adult men because they get evacuated from natural disasters first, huh? Do they get the right to vote? Drink alcohol? Smoke cigarettes? And so on. What on earth makes you think that getting evacuated or getting drafted exhaust the list of rights-based issues? Rights involve a great deal more than that.

Chinese netizens rarely, if ever post on MDL. They have their own social media platforms in their native language.
It's funny how some random Americans think they know all about China and its people despite never stepping foot in the country or speaking a lick of the (Mandarin) language.
If BaiLu anti-fans were responsible for MM's low MDL rating, then how come it's still higher than MM's Douban rating?
Heres a bit of unsolicited advice: don't stereotype Chinese people OR Chinese fans. At most, you've come across only a tiny and trivial percentage of either population.

Exactly. You said that during wartime, women have more rights than men because women don't get drafted while men do. But currently (and since WWII), there's been no war going on, right? No one (male or female) is getting drafted right now, so how can women still have more rights than men? You just successfully defeated your own argument. Good job!

Not to mention, most of the subtitles are provided by translators volunteering their services. Should the Chinese entertainment companies turn them down or something?

You're a liar if you say you've found every Chinese drama on YouTube. Most of the "prestige" dramas are unavailable on YouTube, let alone have multiple subtitles. Why would you think the C-dramas on YouTube are the only ones that exist?

Yes, the "Chinese" mentality. Of course, 1.4+ billion people all think alike.
EDIT: the poster to whom I responded sarcastically has since, to her credit, qualified her remark. She meant "Chinese fan war" mentality. I'm not sure fan wars in China are different than those in other countries. Maybe in degree, but definitely not in kind.

What about the target audience of hundreds of millions of Chinese diaspora do you not understand? Most Chinese abroad do not know Chinese well, if at all. It makes sense for Chinese entertainment companies to open YouTube channels with subtitles. Notice they rarely, if ever offer Hindi subtitles. Take that however you wish.

I couldn't care less whether you like C-dramas or not. But it's rude and annoying to complain in a C-drama commentary section why C-dramas cannot be more like K- dramas. You don't see me go into an Indian restaura nt and complain why the food doesn't taste like Chinese food. Because it's common decency.
YIKES an 8.4?!?!?! pshhhh this drama should at least be a 9 already lol I'm obsessed
It was a 9 several hours ago. The ratings tend to greatly fluctuate early on because of the small sample size of voters. Even a relatively few number of up- or down-votes will non-trivially affect the overall ratings. Not to mention, people tend to have stronger reactions to their first impressions of new dramas, so the ratings can be more extreme until things settle down. Last but not least, people are basing their judgment on only 5 (or fewer) episodes so far. So one or two good or bad episodes (according to them) will skew their ratings one way or another.

For slice of life, see "When I Fly Towards You." For nineties nostalgia, check out "When We Were Young" and "A River Runs Through It."
