You convinced me to continue watching it. I love angst and I have to say I do love when characters break up because of life circumstances or because one of them is trying to protect the other but can't say and they meet again years later, this is what first brought the drama to my attention. I don't know why they break up, but I'm willing to bet it fits in the above.

I don't mind the lack of side plots for romance stories. I do dislike miscommunication most of the time but it gets a pass if everyone is just miserable dealing with other thighs which seems like it might be the case too.

Can anyone considering dropping or not enjoying the drama as much tell me why?

i'm thinking of watching it, I even started the first episode, but I'm not sure if it is for me and I like more neutral or negative reviews because if people complain about things I enjoy I know it's for me lol

(Anyone enjoying it also feel free to comment, but I know when we like a show we might promote it as the best thing ever when it might not be, I'm guilty of doing it)

I enjoyed the first two episodes a lot but I will drop it if the love triangle becomes the main focus.

Honestly, after all this time, I'll only believe it when I'm actually watching it lol

Is it still worth starting it? It has been on my list for a few weeks and now that I'm caught up with my other kdramas I thought of watching it but now everyone is pissed here and on Twitter lol.

The song Mr. Zeng's wife sings at the end of episode 9 is the same from Coroner's Diary. A muder will happen at any seconds, I can feel it.

I watched until episode 12 and honestly not much changed in those 5 episodes.

That makes sense with only Jin An being the ML. I still wish the story around the romance, not the romance itself, was more interesting. Or maybe if they only want to develop the romance, cut out everything else. I thought about continuing while skipping all other scenes with the empress, ji ran, etc. But I usually only feel like skipping scenes towards the end and this is very early on.

And I'm also excited to watch How Dare You!

As I said, I like the main couple, they are not the problem. But I have not been attached to any secondary character. It's hard to watch a slow burn romance when you don't enjoy the other 30% of the show involving the rest of the characters. The military storyline holding things together is also very shallow. I had the same problem with TPOB. Great leads and chemistry, great group of generals, but awful villains that were just an annoyance with a very basic land conflict.

Sometimes I feel like the writers/producers focus so much on the main couple that they forget the rest of the show also needs to hold our interest.

I'm in episode 12 and I think I'm gonna drop it. I like both leads and do have fun watching a lot of the scenes, but I can never watch more than 1 or 2 epsidoes per day even though I have time to. I keep procrastinating because I just don't care about anyone else or the repetitive main conflict. I was hoping he would get his memories back early on and they would have a back and forth as enemies/allies or something different at least but that's obviously not happening, I know his memories will take a long time to be back yet and the spoilers for the crown prince make me even less excited to watch. It's a shame because Cheng Lei is so great in this, I hope we can see more of his comedic side in his following projects.
