Oh boy, Episode 6 of Tastefully Yours really tested my patience—and not in a good way. Let’s talk about the male lead (ML) for a second, or rather, let’s drag him through the metaphorical mud he deserves to be face-planted in.Why does he look so PATHETIC? Not just pathetic—comically useless. This man is supposed to be our “romantic lead,” but he spends the entire episode wandering around like a kicked puppy, spineless and void of any basic self-respect. The FL left him. Not just emotionally. She packed her bags, emotionally checked out, and physically walked away. TO HER EX. And where is our brilliant ML in the aftermath? Is he setting boundaries? Calling her out? Demanding an ounce of dignity? Oh no. He’s running back to her with some sad-sack honeymoon fantasy like he’s the poster boy for emotional masochism.For what, exactly? For a woman who walked out on him and his diner dreams like they were last season’s trash? She ditched his struggling restaurant project—something that was supposed to be their shared vision—and he responds by… planning a romantic getaway? As if that’s going to fix the blatant disregard she showed for his life and effort?Make it make sense.This man acts like he’s lucky she even breathes in his direction. He looks desperate, clingy, and just utterly hollowed out. There’s no strength in his character. No growth. No confrontation. Just this endless loop of self-inflicted humiliation. And the worst part? The show romanticizes it. As if we’re supposed to swoon over his "devotion." Devotion is one thing, but this is just emotional self-destruction with extra seasoning.Honestly, it’s not love. It’s codependency dressed up in wistful lighting and sad piano music. And if the show keeps pushing this narrative like it’s some tragic romance rather than the cautionary tale it actually is, we’re in for a whole season of emotional whiplash and wasted potential.Give us a spine, ML. If Episode 10 was nonsense, the preview for Episode 11 looks like pure garbage on steroids. Somehow, Ga Seon Yeong now controls the prosecutor’s office too — because apparently, professors in this drama are above the law, the chaebols, and maybe even the constitution.Butler Choi is still around, not fired, not questioned, just walking around freely like nothing ever happened. Meanwhile, everyone — literally everyone — is suddenly against Kim Young Ran, the largest shareholder and richest woman in the show. Why? Because Ga Seon Yeong supposedly gives them what Kim Young Ran can’t. And that makes me wonder — what exactly is she giving them?At this point, I wouldn’t be surprised if the writers imply that Ga Seon Yeong slept with half the country to gain power. The police, the thugs, the prosecutor — all are magically in her pocket. She’s not a villain anymore — she’s the “Supreme Ruler of Lawless Korea.”Honestly, I’m just waiting for the President of Korea to appear in Episode 11 and bow down to the “Great Ga Seon Yeong,” the Villain of the Era. At this rate, even God himself might take orders from her.

The relationship doesn’t read as “sweet healing love,” but rather a wish-fulfillment daydream—the kind where introverted or socially awkward men imagine that a perfect woman will appear and love them unconditionally, without them needing to offer anything equal in return.And then comes the most baffling part: our “great” male lead actually tells the man who arranged their blind date to reject her. Imagine that—a woman this beautiful, successful, polite, caring, financially independent, and genuinely serious about marriage and family, is ready to commit to him despite his autism. She’s even thinking about a future together, including children, knowing the risks his condition might bring.Yet instead of valuing this once-in-a-lifetime chance, he rejects her because he thinks he can somehow have a casual relationship with her without commitment. Really? In what universe does a man like this turn away a woman like her?To make things even more ridiculous, after being rejected by the male lead, the female lead goes to the man who arranged their blind date and begs him to somehow arrange another meeting with the same guy. This is after the male lead has clearly said he doesn’t like her and won’t be with her.She actually pleads, saying that eventually he will fall for her. Why? Because some doctor vaguely suggested she should be with him? There’s no practical reason, no emotional backstory, no hidden connection that explains her persistence. The drama just expects us to accept that a woman of her level—beauty, career, money, dignity—would throw it all aside to chase a man who openly rejects her, hoping he’ll magically change his mind.At this point, it stops being a sweet love story and turns into nonsense wish-fulfillment, where the perfect woman doesn’t just appear for an average autistic man—she humiliates herself, begs, and insists on being with him no matter what. It’s not healing; it’s insulting to both women (who are portrayed as desperate) and men (who are told to expect fantasy instead of reality).
