Everything I Wanted

HOLY FREAKING CRAP. This hit me like the first season did. Everything about this series makes it a masterpiece. The execution of a pure and realistic love story makes it relatable and the emotions easy to comprehend. The acting is always superb from these two. It made me cry and want to throw fists just like the first season did— BUT ON A MUCH HIGHER LEVEL. I was so anxious that this would end badly— and so sad that my favourite love story ever would comes to a sad closing. I won’t overlook the cheating that occurred— nothing excuses cheating, but it’s really such a natural thing that occurs, and I’m not sure i can be mad about it. I personally haven’t been in the position to where I would cheat— but I can totally understand why some people do it. I can even imagine myself doing it to be honest, though I’ll never commit to someone to where I then feel trapped and want someone else that way. In Teh’s position— I completely understand what he did— of course, i hated him for it, but I under him. I have to agree with what another reviewer said— ‘Love when you are ready, not when you are lonely’. I wasn’t disappointed at its beautiful conclusion in this sequel. The music in these series work very well with the emotions that are being acted out. I am a huge fan of the lack of music in certain scenes, which allows for me to focus on the characters and their actions without distraction. I think this use of no music in some scenes is something that brings me into a world of reality, as though what I am viewing something real and not fiction. It’s something that I don’t ever notice being done in other dramas, and if it is being done, it’s not done well enough for me to care for it. The storyline is a super simple one, and it made me think about my own life and experiences, future and present, with love, which is something I like to have from shows. If I can connect what is being shown to me to myself, it makes the experience about both reflection and enjoyment. The editing, choice of camera angles, and scenes with little to no talking are SO GOOD. Like these actors and the people that chose how to execute everything that makes a good show did a damn well job. They can say more about their feelings with no lines and only their faces/actions than any other actors and their dragged-on lines can. I’ll never forget this show.

Hardly a complete review— just my initial and final thoughts

Love the acting and characters. Like the actor for Porsche is AMAZING. I’ve never seen a better actor in these series. The plot is interesting (though at some points slow?). The story linked multiple stories together without them really connecting. The ending with the mother and that drag on of lies was boring and obnoxious. I was hoping for a bit more drama at some points, and it felt weird to transition from a serious event to everything being suddenly fine, even in the uncut version. I didn’t see the point in throwing in that Vegas/Pete plot line in near the end. It was also SO toxic and they still get together? Yeah no. That demerits points. It was also degrading to throw it in and have comedic scenes and music in the scenes between those scenes. Love the actor for Vegas though. He’s amazing and I love when he speaks English too. I wasn’t very interested in the Porchay/Kim plot line until it got dramatic. Chay’s love for Kim developed way too soon— within an episode of them getting together (though they made it seem longer than that later on the periods). The end and the DRAMA though?! I want them—need them—in another season or spin-off. Jeff’s acting and fight scene are amazing.

Made me happy

I can’t believe y’all didn’t like this as much as I did! The acting was great compared to other Thai bls that I’ve seen. I notice subtle things when actors use them for their characters, glances, facial expressions, actions— tiny things that aren’t forced and make them feel more realistic. They make me enjoy shows more often then not. Not any of that annoying humour that is there to awkwardly pass the time like in other shows. I liked both couples too, and the story was a break from all of the engineering schoolboys. To each their own, I guess. Y’all can stick to gmm

You should be ashamed of yourselves.

Anyone who enjoys watching something so harmful and disgusting shouldn’t be allowed to consume LGBTQ+ media. Too many horrible tropes, like fujoshis, rape, incest, and the romanticization of it all. I’m sure there are more that I haven’t mentioned.

Gay relationships aren’t your little toy scenarios to play with. Of course we want representation in the media for other types of love, OF COURSE WE DO! But negative and just creepy and overused portrayals like this are not what we need. People need to stop romanticizing toxic behaviour— there’s a difference between dramatic and heavy topics shown within media and just plain romanticization of toxicity. There’s also a way for films and shows to clearly highlight very toxic things within relationships and friendships without putting them on a pedestal and labeling them as cute or desirable and OKAY.

I expected more from the History series. I guess the departing of the screen writer or whomever that woman that left to write We Best Love instead really damaged everyone else’s heads. This isn’t cute. It’s shameful.
