Regarding Saya, I see that people think he is portrayed as loosing ..etc The way I see it, he has never been truly raised by Tagon so he has not learnt his -Tagon- cunningness. He has learnt more from Taealha and knows how to outsmart her at times He does not know how Tagon's mind works.

you need to understand the journey of the characters. What they have been through, why and how they managed to get to where they are now in season 2 and the development of their feelings. Season 1 cannot be missed.It just cannot.

the twins are Egutu but they still do not know how to" activate" their strength at will yet. Some times it comes to Eunseom when during the war and sometimes it does not like when he was chained on the chair in Taealha torture chamber. he tried the break the chain but could not. In season 1 YanCha had captured him with his chain and Eunseom was able to break free.

I agree Yancha sure has feelings for Tanya since some time in season 1

so you see him riding his horse ioutside of arthdal to see the other tribes? I do not. I can see him having sont the 8 years trying to convince Tanya to wear his bracelet or necklace again. I feel sorry for him but at the same time, Eunseom has suffered as well.

he is not dumb in season 2 either. He is playing against people who are more powerful than him. Tagon and Taeals are more manipulative than him. Eunseom is and has become more " Street wise so to speak" .
Saya was locked in the tower. You cannot expect him to suddenly be street wise and manipulative to Taealha level but he is still very cunning.
Tanya has become sharp of mind and controling thanks to him and his teaching.
He is not a warrior and he will shine once back in Arthdal. with a new level of cunningness

saya has always been envious of Eunseom.once he realised thar the dreams were Eunseom life. I cannot blame him.
