I watched more than half of it twice and the rest once. Don’t condescendingly imply that I didn’t understand it or “really watch” it (whatever that means). I’ve noticed it’s very hard for people to openly dislike a drama with a strong fanbase on here because people like you can never come to terms with the fact that not everyone is going to like what you like. Instead you make up excuses to downplay the other’s opinion as less valid cause “they didn’t understand it” or “they didn’t REALLY watch it”. I understood it very well thank you very much, and I still didn’t like it. Cope.

By meaning I thought you meant the actual meaning of their names lol not why they have different names. I already know that each name is used depending on their relationship to the person they’re referring to. Like one is a given name and another is a courtesy name etc. Knowing that didn’t make it any less confusing for me.

The untamed had a lot more characters with a lot more names. That’s the difference. In word of honor most of the time one or two names were used depending on the character or respectful nouns such as master were used. About the meanings of the names, I personally couldn't care less. It’s not the job of the audience to do homework on the meanings of the names. If that information was important it could’ve been woven into the script somehow like how we get to learn why Zhan Yan changed his name to Wen Kexing and how Kexing is the symbol for Yan split in two. Important information that someone like me who isn’t familiar with Mandarin (and even those who are) might not have picked up otherwise. If you liked it enough to do outside research then that’s great for you. And if I missed the meaning of the names being explained then that’s on me. About the use of “fucking”, cuss words are not always used in a negative sense. They are often used to show emphasis. There’s a difference between saying “They have a long arm” and “They have a long ass arm”. That’s just how I personally speak but I apologize if it came across as rude. I forget not everyone uses cuss words as liberally as I do.

I dropped this a few months ago at ep 35 but after finishing Word of Honor and loving it, I decided to give it another go. I rewatched and finally finished this. In the end, I still don’t get the hype. In fact, I feel like I like it even less now after rewatching. I don’t know why I’m constantly annoyed while watching it. Every character is just so frustrating. Certain parts are dragged out longer than they should. And compared to word of honor, the “bromance” in the untamed is definitely not worth it. The plot itself can be very confusing if you don’t pay attention, many intertwining characters with their own importance and even more fucking names💀 (istg everyone has an average of like 4 names jfc). Anyways, one word to describe this show is disappointing. I had pretty high expectations considering the tremendous amount of hype it got on basically every single social media platform you can name but it didn’t live up to them unfortunately.

Not saying I wanted them to be vengeful AT ALL! Lmao that’s the last thing I want. Too many women characters like that in BL dramas already. I just thought they might be the catalyst for Sun and Sky realizing or coming to terms w their feelings for each other through some sort of jealousy arc. Currently if you removed them from the story, not much would change.

This was alright to pass the time with. My biggest qualm I think is how insanely unlikeable and insufferable the main character is. He doesn’t have many redeeming qualities. He’s quite cold even to his friends.

Dropped after weeks of putting it on hold. I really don’t know how I got to ep 10. The pairings make me so uncomfortable.

Rewatched this drama and remembered why I had such a bittersweet feeling about it. I love it for the most part up until around ep 15 or whenever the king Taejo and the crown prince die

I agree, I just thought they would play a bigger role than they have. Even the moments where they caused jealousy between Sky and Sun aren’t very climactic or impactful lol

I thought I wouldn’t like this bc I wasn’t the biggest fan of the untamed and not the biggest fan of Wuxia dramas in general but I was pleasantly surprised. I finished this in three days. I just couldn’t stop clicking next episode. I’m glad the epilogue episode clears up the ending

True, I suspect the girls as well considering it hasn’t been confirmed 100% that it was actually So Hee. But if it was the boys, how would they have gotten ahold of that picture? There’s also a chance So Hee could have anonymously sent it to them or someone else knowing they are messy enough to leak it and it wouldn’t be tracked back to her. She seems to be sly and cunning enough to do that.

I thought from the beginning that by the end Taegyoung and Shinwoo would be canon and it seems to be heading that way. But tbh I still secretly shipped Da On and Taegyoung until ep 9. The straw that broke the camels back for me was when Taegyoung confessed to him but someone interrupted them and he left right away. It just goes to show how Da On values his role as some sort of Fix-It Felix for everyone over Taegyoung. And all of that was confirmed w the things that happened in ep 10. I don’t blame Da On for his caution but Taegyoung deserves better.

I knew that photo would be leaked somehow but I didn’t think it would be leaked by So Hee. I was literally thinking at the beginning of ep 10 that someone would leak the picture but it wouldn’t be So Hee because she loves Da On and how would that benefit her anyway? I should’ve known she would be willing to take any measures to get him. But still… how would this get her closer to Da On?

I don’t understand why Juno and Toktaeng are even part of this storyline. What purpose do they have other than liking Sun and Sky respectively?

I didn’t mind how slow paced it was. That after credit scene was a bit weird and jarring though. What the hell was that supposed to mean?

I will pick this up again once the rest of the episodes are done and subbed. Although its far from the best drama out there, there's something quite charming about it. Im putting it on hold for now though :\
