I think he always had it on him but needed the right FL, director and character to really pull it out. I’m watching The Rational Life right now and he feels wasted in that drama. His character just seems so flat and not very interesting. I felt the same way with Miss the Dragon. Here, DFQC is a complex character with a deep back story and range of traumas and emotions. He did such a great job with this character. I think his expressions are so versatile and he seems very devoted. I hope he gets the right team again and a really great role. Since he proved himself here hopefully he will get more complex characters.

OMG that bts is even more heartbreaking than the actual scene! 😭 And Esther panicked when Dylan started crying against oh… they did such a phenomenal job! No one can question Dylan Wang’s acting after this!

I love that the plot is driven by the story itself. Even without the ML and FL love story the plot is so intriguing and captivating! I just can’t think how it’s going to end!!

I agree, I love that both the ML and the FL are smart and even if they have opinions that may not be agreeable to some they are rational. Also, the dilemma DFQC is facing is a genuine dilemma. It really lacks a solution. I hate dramas where the solution seems so obvious but the characters act so dumb around it. Not here. The tight plot really gives them no real out.

By the way, where is her Master Siming with all this calamity happening? Do y’all think maybe Siming saw Lanhua’s fate and has been searching for a solution all this time? Otherwise, where is she?

AoS is actually really good. It’s ending this weekend too so I’ll probably watch it but I did pause that one after I started LBFD. AoS is very good too so I recommend it.

Yes, one of my many favorite things about this drama is the attention to the smallest detail and consistency in them. If they mention something in one episode they follow through in the other. The fact that the first thing DFQC wanted to do after getting back to Cangyan Sea was to take a bath goes back to Orchid’s comments which apparently bothered him 😂 There are so many instances like this, so that’s why I think even the smallest detail will tie themselves up nicely at the end!

I was just rewatching and thinking that same thing! The uniqueness of the Moon Tribe crowns and the beautiful clothes. The art director needs to win an award. It’s all so beautiful!

Whatever happened to her? I really liked her in Maiden Holmes but haven’t seen her since. Does anyone know? I know it was a bummer about Immortality but does she have any other upcoming projects for real? Coming out soon?
