Those who want to know difference b/w novel and drama. There are quite few:
1) Family in drama in good but even better in novel with many more comedic and emotional moments. Many are cut down in drama and few new are added.
2) Major difference- Princess Lin'an- No major role in novel till ep 21 and there is no swapping of princess to serve in novel. In novel there is no confusion about princess Huaqing and Linan tries to snatch ML openly and Linan is more arrogant and childish and always refer to ML as "dog slave". This plot is additionally added to drama only -don't know why , may be she is more important later in novel.
3) Male Lead personality is more raunchy in novel and in his monolouges he always see every female character to be bedded including - caiwei, huaqing, linan , imperial perceptor , investigator and even sister(implied in novel as she in not blood related). He also frequently sleeps around with Fu Xiang( and other courtesans). Refers "wei yuan" as" Dad Wei" and "Dog Emperor" Writer was in teens/early twenties when he wrote Novel and it shows in writing.
4) Gender of character has been changed- Princess Ping Yan mother is dead and Father King YU is alive and wrote blood letter ,
5) Investigations are more detailed in novel and quite few clues are skipped in drama and some foreshadowing is also skipped. Characters are much more alive in novel

This part also in novel. Xu Xin Nian had high esteem and was little narcissist as well. His thought process is that now his family is ruined (Father -beheaded, Mother sister- sent to be courtesans and cousin exiled) and and he can't be scholar(Govt official and many other required to be scholar) , It is better to die then be salted fish.
In novel Ningyan already guessed his intention to die when he left money in prison but forgets about it when he was released and head home with family and lead to finding whole family about fiasco.
Therefore Xu Xin Nian also sulk in embarrassment in later scenes.

It depends on author and type of story. Chinese webnovel author publish novel online with few free introductory chapters and then paywall locked chapters and are usually paid by word count and subscription from reader. It can cause novel to be quite long in order to milk reader and may even deviate from initial/predetermined setting/plot based of reader's reviews. I have read complete novels ranging from 80 chapters to 2500+ chapters. It is entertaining. I read few chapters of novel before starting it. it follows novel till episode 5. But novel is 955 chapters long, we might not get whole novel but hopefully we may get seasons for it. Keep in mind Joy of life and sword snow stride , you may get few seasons but no commitment for full novel dramatization also actors may change like Soul continent.

Yeah , I did check Wikipedia but it somehow skipped my notice . It won Daesang in SBS channel awards.

Lol Kim Nam Gil also didn't win Daesang Award for "Through the darkness " even though he gave very solid performance and blended into role. Although Jung Nara was also effortlessly excellent, that role itself didn't have any outsanding quality for it.

He may not have attended award show. Usually they usually give preference those to who attend the show and increase rating for award show. In last picture of team performance award, Ji Sung isn't there.

It must be actor chosen by group of directors as judge for most professionalism /acting etc. TBH this awards seems like excuse to give award to PSH though I have seen such category in many recent awards shows as director's /critics choice award.

They are internal awards held by each channel for get together and celebration for year end . It is pat your own back award. Each channel churn around 30-50 shows in a year(incl variety , informatory , daily shows).
Think of them like Competition in School level (Channel Awards)>National level( Mostly Independent ie Baeksang or any national awards) > International level(Emmy or Bafta Awards). It is same in many countries including mine.

It was very entertaining. Villian Park Sung Woon ending was due to super meh reason. It seem because they needed to finish series that they give such ending. Lee Joon Hyuk was fabulous. He seem way more humane than all other prosecutors in various series.

It think it was too fast paced. Though 2 main lead were given more than enough time such that their moments even it feel slow romance but most of other things and characters weren't given enough screen time or importance. Maye 8-10 episode drama would have been enough to flesh out more character and story.
All character needed more time especially min jun and kanna.
It may also be because I am used to watching 16 ep Kdrama and even 40 ep Cdrama but doesn't have much experience in Jdrama

Definitely one of best drama this year. Shin Hye Sun doesn't disappoint with her script choices.
It is somewhat like "My liberation Notes" in sense it makes you think .
I am definitely hoping Ju Hye Ri X Kang Ju Yeon and also low key hoping Baek Hye Yoon X Kang Ju Yeon Ship.
But that wouldn't happen due FL and ML halo.
Also so many people are misconstruing Ep 8 Last line
""Dear Eun Ho, you even failed at happiness. I'm going to step forward now. Me, Ju Hye Ri.""
To me it sounded like Hye Ri was going to help Eun Ho finding Eun Ho's Happiness.
Also there is nothing wrong with Kang Ju Yeon finding Heon Oh as they all need to work together to help heal each other wounds.

Moon announce and moon writer are brother and sisters and hyeon oh is neighborhood older brother who took care of them.

all the cleverness of FL and MIL seems so dumb that they don't question/suspect oh ji eun boyfriend. Literally few frames ago , they saw her phone full of FL husband's photos and even password is FL husband's birthday , yet they believe that she had boyfriend. Why???
but I am liking the setup and the way characters are interacting. It tries for black comedy but falls short.

It keeps getting better and better. From uninteresting first 2 episodes to now 8th episode, each episodes keeps improving and add to story and develop characters.

These days people get offended for nothing. They even got offended for other people and things.

It just means she that emotionally starved she also identify Mr Gu as same person so she mean that they should help each other. Why demand from because Mr Gu is one of ML and not complete stranger.
