I don't really understand what 「恋愛体質」means. I think she's saying like "You're not the falling in love type?"
And I definitely don't understand the latter half of Sora's first response (demo, zettai shitai to omowanai kana). Literally, it's like, "I don't think I absolutely want to", right? As in... what? “I guess I don't really have a strong desire to... [fall in love] / [be in a relationship]" ?? Is that what he's saying? Or is he saying he doesn't think he'll ever fall in love? Or is he saying he doesn't think he'll ever want to?
I understand the later part of the conversation about not really caring about having a girlfriend or not - it's just those few lines above that are confusing me.
Okay, so!!! What Sota said in the second part of the spinoff feels so revealing, but I can't quite digest exactly…
Basically, to summarize for those who haven't seen the spinoff episodes: They take place sometime before episode 5. Natsuki's friends, Kazuharu and Ryo, go to Sota's apartment to secretly interrogate him because Kazu wants more info on the guy Rio is dating. Sota immediately feels that they're up to something, but doesn't know what. Kazu is texting Rio's friend, Yui, and asking her if she has any insights on how to read people. Sota ends up kind of bonding with Kazu/Ryo while teaching them how to gain an advantage when arm wrestling. In Part 2, Sota frankly tells Kazu and Ryo that he knows they're here with some ulterior motive and asks what it is. Kazu admits he wanted to learn more about Sota, so he can decide if he can trust him with Rio, which leaves Sota relieved that this is all they wanted to know.
Later, Sota, Kazu, Rio, and Yui all end up chatting at Natsuki/Rio's house. Yui says she wants to know Sota's thoughts on love, and he says that will be difficult because he's not good with love or romance.
\\ !! Okay, so this is the part that's really interesting to me, but I can't quite grasp !!
Yui asks Sota if he's someone who's like... not inclined towards romantic relationships, basically. Sota says he's not, but it's not like he's against them or anything. Yui responds like "You mean basically, you don't care whether or not you have a girlfriend?" And Sota is like "Yeah, I don't really care either way." And then immediately has to defend himself being like "I don't mean anything bad by that!!" because both Kazu and Ryo are like 🤨🤨. Yui says "So is it like.. it's fun if you have one, but you're not lonely without one?" and Sota says "Yeah, it's kind of like that." \\
Yui then points out that Sota is the opposite of both Rio and Natsuki. At first, she thought that meant that he wouldn't be compatible with them, but now she thinks that them being opposites will make them drawn to Sota and vice versa.
Everyone leaves except Sota, then Natsuki comes home and asks what the group was talking about. Sota says it's a secret,and then they both pet Rock together. Sota narrates in a voiceover something like: "From here on out, I'll be caught up in a storm of love, something which isn't my strong suit. But that's a whole different story." while Sota smiles at Natsuki. (This part is really cute~~ I'll put a gif on my profile)
there's a spinoff episode that's been released (centered around sota), even though it's not listed on mdl yet. anyone know if viki or gaga is gonna pick that up? or if there's gonna be any more spinoff episodes?
