Mediocre Cast Selection and Chaotic Story Lines
Overall, the first episodes were the best until the main characters grew up. The only reason I wanted to enter my review is because I feel the cast selection and story development was annoyingly bad.
Mail Lead: Decent looking guy, but he should concentrate on modeling. His facial expressions and line delivery had very little range. I think they decided to select him because he was really tall and they thought it would translate as “heroic”. Epic fail.
Female Lead: “Smart” twin. She was actually okay. Much better actress.
Female Lead: “aggressive twin” who went bad. She was a decent actress but the character development and the twin’s relationship wasn’t believable. In some ways, I think the two leads should have had the opposite roles.
The other cast of note that did a good job and I feel like should have been the main male lead was the prince from the south, that helped the smart twin when she ran away and dressed as a woman to hide his identity as the prince. He was a much better actor and could have handled the main character role much better.
Other than cast, the big problem with the series was that the transitions were very abrupt- at first I thought that I had accidentally sat on the remote and fast forwarded by accident. So much so that I would rewind only to realize that it was just poor transitions.
Another big issue is that there would be one story line going along, then, suddenly, to a different story line. Then it was as if they forgot that story line until many episodes later. Currently, I’m trying to figure out what happened to the big burly character who came to help them fight a big battle. He didn’t want to leave his quiet seclusion, they convinced him to join them—— after the battle I am still waiting to see if he went home to his wife or he’s wandering somewhere in the desert having been left there by his “friends”, the MAIN main characters……
I always finish a series, once I invest a few episodes, but the last 15 episodes have been really hard to stay interested in….
