One of the most overrated movies of this generation
Anyone who was shocked or amazed by the ending stretch of this movie, I suggest you go back and watch all the amazing Korean hits that came out of 2000-2014 era. This movie was unique and fairly good, but didn't remotely deserve the praise it got. I imagine mostly just the western audience that has very low exposure to Asian cinema was overly impressed by this movie, or westerners of average to low IQ that are well educated and were impressed by the social and cultural aspects covered here.Korean movies that are equal to a lot better than this depending tastes:

To name a few, there's many more. If you want wild and twisted while being very good at the same time, go back and watch almost any Kim Ki Duk flick.
