In the final scene he stands with the ones who passed on... all in white or blue clothing... although he often wore blue throughout the series... which makes me think... the ones who wore red survived... the ones who wore blue passed on... does this theory stick?

Honestly, I don't get why it was cancelled. I watched up to ep 6 so far (completing all 8 today) but I don't see any reason, really. If anything, there're traces of bromance but in these epsisodes I don't see BL really. (I haven't read the novel)
