You saying drama promotion is not that much important and then you giving example of SOKP that's contradict your comment. Yes SOKP was airdroped like SAF but the amount of marketing SOKP got after it released other drama can envy. They level of marketing it got no need to tell of this. Moreover it has reservation of like 8 mil and was hyped all year long cause of all the drama with certain actor. Just look at this for this drama iQiyi even made a whole keep running episode with drama crew which is very rare for any drama. Also when people tried to search other drama the first name and recommendation came was SOKP. if people searched Wol the search result was full of SoKP. I think you also know this and also posted this in WOL comment section. This is called marketing. By the way marketing works really start when drama wiring with all those hotsearches and others. You are saying after 1 or 2 days why SAF didn't grow. Its same reason. With all those marketing AASOL heat was 25000 in first day and SAF was 23900 ( which was stuck before the peak hour finished). So with all that there was not that much big difference. In 3rd day tencent started controlling this.

But despite this without any kind of help from FL fans ( Most people don't like gulinaza's acting which was more of harmful for SEL instead of helpful) only relying on Xu Kai's fans it got 24600 heat. Here ofcourse general people didn't like SEL not even Book fans. Now Ester yu is already full trafic star so she has huge fandom. With all her fandom and Xu Kai's fans together still the heat didn't reach 25000 . Especially when some simple no name dramas can break 25k heat. So isn't its looking like SAF is worst than SEL? . When the game creator himself was praising the drama also some of the real game fan who watched the drama was also really happy cause SAF was full faithful to the game. Doesn't it looks shady? Ok i wont argue with you too much cause i don't think you paid close look at this whole development. (You just point out Yunhe which data basically dependent on platform heat so a drama doesn't have high heat how do you think yunhe data will be high?). The first 7 day broadcast i was watching a group of douban which consist of 7000 people. They were doing all the data monitoring and i have a pretty good idea what happened but as a international viewer i may not able to fully convey you the whole thing and also you wont be understand fully if you are not a chinise viewer or you understand how drama work in china. But i will tell you some simple point. 1. If you paid attention the daily heat graph then you will see after day 2 they heat graph is very much identical and it almost looks like it is pre- determined. To fully understand you have to search weibo or douban people who have all the data. 2. After first weak of broadcast the daily heat is same in both in broadcast day and non-broadcast day which is something like 23300(more or less). Now just think why on earth they both will be same? How people watch new episode on off day? Or people dont watch new episode on broadcast day? Also in 3rd day there was almost 350 heat got vanish in peak time which got people so mad that they were cursing at tencent. In that day the heat was 24815. So tencent never wanted SAF to pass 25k.
3. For a chinise drama to become hit there has to have marketing but SAF didn't have a single marketing, not even a photoshoot. For this marketing thing i cant explain you fully so to fully understand you have to research it. 4. The things about government restriction on adaptation anything on game is true which they implemented last year. So both SAF and SAF 4 has to suffer cause of this. People think that its blessing that this 2 drama was able to broadcast at all. 5. The last thing i will say is this just think about whole SAF and AASOL broadcast process. They are both S+ drama. Before AASOL broadcast they announce it minimum 7 days ago. Then the whole marketing ie.(Photoshoot, weibo ,dauin, ticktok , Hotsearch and other chinise media platforms). They also shoot Variaty show and release it before the show aired which is now normal thing to for any S or even A+ level drama. There are many things about this. On the other hand for SAF ( even SAF4) there is not a single thing. Most important thing for any drama is platform homepage recommendation by which any non fan people come to know about any drama to watch. But SAF didnt have any Homepage recommendation at all in chinise tencent webpage. Basically if you want to watch the drama you have to manually search the drama. So other than fans not many general people also game fans know this drama exist.

So i just saw Wu lai's drama AASOL 's schedule and tencent didn't implement the bullshit SVIP there (only first 3 episode in first day for marketing). So i think there is 2 possible reason-
1. SAF was the ginipig for SVIP experiment and they failed so they reverted to the original way of broadcast where there is no SVIP. ( Less likely) 2. They intentionally implemented SVIP to restrict the heat of SAF and they were successful. Then after that they went normal broadcast with AASOL. ( Most likely)
Tencent is not a fool. Every person with little brain if they look a closer look they will know how SVIP will divide the heat of a drama so its a certain tencent knew what they were doing with SVIP. They intentionally did all those shady thing's with SAF. Whether the reason is government or other reason this is unacceptable. When they did dirty to WOL it was tilting but now they did dirty to SAF now i am like.... I sincerely hope that after MR Xu Kai's next drama is not with Tencent.
