I am watching this drama and found it fascinating, but more fascinating is reading so many comments romanticizing every inch of positive reactions (I mean literally" inch", cause that small are the positives from him)of the ML.that shows me how lower are the current standards of the modern woman.I would never date someone like him, no matter how handsome or successful might be.

For me the school arc works precisely because their relationship grows through familiarity, trust and all those small things rather than constant flirting. It’s a slow burn, definitely, but less romance doesn’t automatically mean less chemistry or weaker writing. Romance is part of their growth, not the only purpose of the story.
And about Hu Yitian’s age: sure, nobody is going to confuse him with an actual 16-year-old. But the story doesn’t stay in high school. Once it moves into adulthood, can you really make the same criticism? For me, absolutely not.
This is a personal, academic growth and healing story as much as it is a romance. A 6–7 is completely fair if it didn’t work for you, but I wouldn’t call it a failed youth drama for not being *A Love So Beautiful* or *Lovely Us*.
