This might sound awful, but I laughed 😂 when I saw the funeral procession. All I could think about was what…
this was my thought seeing Ye Xian on the screen after he got kicked, like boy, you are still stuck on romance, just wait til you get home, and also, wow, they organized a funeral so fast
I just started the 26th episode and I had to pause. Ye Xian acts like a literal child, why is he so immature
because he IS immature, it's part of this character's personality, thing is, he is consistently immature, which is props to writers--- he also acts as the foil to our mature ML, but that is too much dissection of the writers' characterizations lol
I think some people don’t know the difference between a badly written character and a well-written gray character.…
he is well-written, right?? he has character development, but then they manage to keep him consistent in his traits... and strangely enough, in Ye Xian's case, consistent means volatility lol---- I think most of the characters are well-written, except that it is definitely operating under the haze of reverse harem, like the center of the men's lives is our FL, not realistic, but we are here for the drama not the realism 🤣🤣
Not surprise because even with his already lean body, he actually still look wide on screen with layers of clothing,…
I do not mind seeing chunkier men, tbh, too lanky sometimes looks unappetizing, lord, gaunt cheekbones make me think, wow, Chinese nobility were undernourished in the olden days
This drama be testing my patience 😤FINALLY my sugarplums wedding 🥰💍BUT why the hell did we get 2 episodes…
in all fairness, she understands why Ye Xian lashes out, because our FL is temperamental and prone to fighting others as well, just that she is much more calculating than Ye Xian who is more unrestrained
Well the “kissing” scenes sure leave something to be desired lol pretty lackluster
but the cinematography in the veil inside carriage kiss scene, it might have been a non-kiss, but the cinematography, the colors and angles, chef's kiss
She initially had her eyes on the Chen grandchild. What was her benefit in that? Did she just see his mild demeanor,…
I think that relationship would only work if Yanyun is killed off lol, that sly schemer---- because even if took longer for Yanyun to have developed/realized his feelings for FL, if she had married someone else by then, with some maneuvering, our Yanyun would have been plunged into this villain era, again, but that is a different drama altogether 😉
She initially had her eyes on the Chen grandchild. What was her benefit in that? Did she just see his mild demeanor,…
in my understanding, yes, marrying him would have had benefits, Ji family are merchants, Gu are a bit higher in the social strata being lower tier officials, Chen is definitely elite type, she need not have married Yanyun, any association with the Chen's would have been an immediate boost in respectability--- plus at that time, she liked him, and to her, marrying someone she likes/approves of is quite beneficial
I was hooked on this show until episode 25 when the writing unfortunately fell back on typical CDrama tropes.…
to be fair, the web novel's ending is also tied up prettily, like yup, ML is Wei Yan 2.0 but nice version, happily ever after lalala but at least there was more substance (as in the battles were brutal) before the idealized ending, in the drama, yeah, same I started getting antsy at ep 25
