I've been thinking the same. The underlying current of sex-negativity is definitely there. Will the new Victorians ever lead satisfactory lives when all they can do is sit at home searching for things and persons to cancel. I don't think this much anger could come from balanced lives.

Garosero YouTube Hoverlab channel makes millions out of SK's cancelling mania and it's a bullet proof formula. Hoverlab was amongst Top 10 profit making YouTubers and currently probably nr. 1 in terms of profits. Family gets its share. The rest of the gossip media (including seemingly serious newspapers) get their share. Only possible in SK to continue pushing celebrities to severe depression and death. Only a nation of adult children needs their celebrities to be role models. Doesn't look like they'd grow up any time soon. Cyberbullying is a national pastime. I almost choked when I saw a headline about Yoo Ah In last week saying "are we becoming too lenient towards wrongdoers" (as his movies got unbanned). When the court ordered him freed from prison and criticized the exaggerated sentence.

I can't get past ep 4 with WLGYT. Despite several attempts I just can't. I don't really care if everyone else loves this. I also admit I'm that odd one who didn't see the greatness of Flower of Evil LOL. Although I love slife of life as much as crime and thriller. I'm mostly watching c-dramas rated around 7-7.9. Can't reach a higher rating bc the amount of viewers (around 1000 max). I actually didn't particularly like Hospital Playlist either and can't watch Reply series. I don't think it's a genre issue bs because I love Like Flowers in the Sand, Northward, and Meet Yourself, all slice of life. Maybe these things just can't be explained. But the current obsession with ratings is meaningless on the long run.

no romance

Highly recommended for friends of noir dramas. I like the idea that karma will get you in the end. The actors are all immensely good (but particularly Park Hae Soo). The plot twists are so intriguing I watched this during one evening. This is not full fledged black comedy unlike Killer Paradox or Family Matters. But just as bloody (I had to skip some parts as I'm not a friend of gore). 9/10

Friday: finished work, went out to enjoy the weather, watched the drama, went to bed. Rated it this morning. I am quite baffled by your question. Obviously, we watch dramas since we're here. I had marked this one in my calendar.

It seems to boil down to marriage or not. KSR had an adult role in a romance drama at the age of 14 which everyone now conveniently ignores. I'd like to know if that isn't considered grooming. Who was her manager at that time (the mother?). Under which agency (Fantagio?)?

Everyone always has their own side and stakes from which they tell a story. Husband, boyfriend, mom, manager, KSH, Hoverlab, GM.

It's just not normal to claim to know the facts of the case.

Aren't you worried that you're ignoring things that actually are going on in the world ? and relying on a very dubious YouTuber who's making millions from this mess? People are murdered in Palestine, Yemen, Syria and Lebanon. Watching the public humiliation and lynching of one man is more important? Even if this case proves he's guilty, will that stop anything? And you're just as or even more guilty bc you're a ruthless cyberbully.

I am not denying that KSH is a narcissist, most actors are. Sort of comes with the profession. He is not even denying it himself.

SK has bred a generation of bullies and sociopaths but luckily these rarely breed so there's light at end of a tunnel I guess.

How can it be that these people can't for a minute put themselves in his shoes. That's a basic human skill. Elementary. Not having that capacity means they are sociopaths.

I've scrapped my plans to travel to SK. All k-dramas just seem like a big lie now.

This is actually not bad at all, it has its own strenghts. The atmosphere is grim and that is by design. Cinematography and location are pretty awesome. The weaknesses are that we don't get to know the characters well enough to care about them. The motives for murders are not always credible. The love story of support characters is not cringey but takes too much space. I think the director just fell in love with his own shots and didn't have the heart to cut them as he should have. Like all Light On series noir dramas, this gets more tight and suspenseful towards the end. I definitely don't regret watching this although on my scale it's just 6.5./10.

There is nothing that he have could said about the deceased or their life together without being blamed of defaming and/or lying. It's obvious to everyone that QoT would have suffered from his acknowledgement of the relationship during the airing. Everyone in the production would have been influenced and he had to protect them. He said they had a relationship and it ended (uncomfortably). He said everyone has a private life in addition to a public life. I think that much should be so obvious to everyone but no. Everything is twisted to fit the narrative as if we don't know anything about how the industry functions.

I like this a lot based on first 3 episodes. For c-noir drama lovers. Chen Jiang He is delightfully temperamental, his shouting at the office makes me amused. The mountaineous half-desert location is very beautiful.
