I am not necessarily a fan of DD but I think this part suits her. Was enjoying the monster fantasy until the fight scene ep6/7 it was like someone fell asleep while shooting it - lack luster- bad choreography just plain lame and bad CG. a shame really
My 2 cents - All of the actors did well in their roles, but I agree the leads lacked chemistry. It felt like a vehicle for VS more than DYX. but I enjoyed watching all the side characters including LXF and Joe Chen - who did have chemistry along with DYC bestie and VS sister etc. I agree with the rest of posters who think VS was miscast - she is obviously older than DYX. Sometimes it isn't so obvious, so it doesn't affect the interactions but it didnt work here. I wouldn't mind watching these actors in other roles
Wow this is Rowoon like I have never seen him - I am impressed - his face tells his suffering. I don't think this series will be as memorable as his acting - and his height combined with PSH (smile). I agree with the rest of the posts - too much story to tell and not enough epi to cover for it to make an impact.
I think the leads actors compliment each other - but I am having a hard time with how violent they are with each other - will be hard to see that turning into love
since we only have 5 epis left, I am betting any romance is going to be centered around 2nd lead couple. The writer/s have already set the stage for the friends to lovers scenario and who cares if there is an age difference.
this is a pretty unusual cdrama. something about the cinematography reminds me of roger corman films. pretty sure the low rating is because viewers don't know what to make of it. Personally, I can't seem to stop watching it - its campy fun
I truly believe this drama deserves a higher rating. Personally, I chose not to judge the characters' actions too harshly—after all, I'm not deeply familiar with Chinese culture or historical values, so I can’t fairly say what’s realistic or not in that context. Instead, I focused on what I do know: the acting and the chemistry between the leads, which were both excellent.
I was never bored for a moment. This is a drama, after all—so yes, there's angst, and yes, the characters are flawed. But that’s part of what made it engaging. I’m just happy we got to see the leads reunite on screen and that the story wrapped up with a satisfying happy ending. It made the journey worthwhile.
