All that's good and bad in a classic BL
Together With Me is one of the classic early BLs. It has all of the tropes before they were tropes.
You've got falls, misunderstandings, nursing the sick, sharing an umbrella, drunken mistakes, feeding each other, funny sidekicks and evil villains. Also great lead chemistry and engaging secondary couples in a university setting.
It also has stalking, rape, lying, cheating, manipulation, plot and counter plots, drunkeness, drugging, entrapment, physical and emotional abuse. These are tropes the genre is trying to grow beyond or at least make significant.
I had just watched Manner of Death. It was interesting to go back and see the evolution MaxTul's journey towards the maturity of their roles in Manner of Death.
