I am currently on episode 30, sad knowing I only have ten episodes left. Going to be honest, it took me a few episodes to get used the male leads round face and nose. This is what happens when the entertainment industry "brainwashes" our psychological expectations.
Overall, this drama is decent, it's kept me entertained. It's not over the top, has a mix of everything, I just don't quite understand the plot with how the male lead goes into this 'Wuxia' world. They haven't really explained this yet.
I just started this drama because I have been researching the short lived 'Wu Zhou' Dynasty, which is also the same era/dynasty which Di Renjie lived during. Very curious how this drama is created against the historical account(s).

Just finished this, watching the (40 minute x 10) episodes from ▶YouTube. I usually over analyze things but the main reason why I gave the series an 8 out 10; was for how the series was directed. How the director was able to blend the comedic elements into scenes before the scene or plot would feel too serious. I felt like the drama also didn't lean too heavily into a specific genre; there were action scenes, but they weren't that intense or occuring all of the time -- same thing with any romance scenes. Usually these short/mini dramas fail to capture my attention, but I honestly enjoyed* this one.

This was the first modern Taiwanese drama (I think), I have watched, in general. For whatever reason, I am a big fan of (any countries) shows or movies, which have something to do with a prison/jail in the plotline.
Yes, as other's have mentioned, the opening scene does have this quirky/funny dance intro to the show. The show was fine overall, nothing bad but nothing amazing. A decent drama that had just enough, to keep me interested but might not be enough for others.
The only thing I didn't understand about the drama, is why they added random ambiguous male+male scenes. Leaning into “could be something more” moments. When most of the guy(s) in the drama (I think), are straight. Unless this is normal for Taiwanese dramas. 🤷
I found this show on a random Chinese YouTube channel with the title 'Douluo Youth'. I did not know it was free on Viki, so will watch it there now.
Only on episode 05 and I am truly enjoying the storyline and the female lead. She does have a silly character, and her character behaves childish, but it's done well. (In Chinese this "trope" is called '傻白甜' -- there really isn't a direct translation to English) However, I am concerned her childish behavior could also be what makes me stop watching the show if the director over does it.
I haven't read the other comments (yet) but I would assume some people might complain about the cgi or 3d effects/animation. For myself personally, bad cgi or 3d effect never bothered me. My brain can easily convert what I am seeing into something more imaginative if need be. Let alone this series was filmed/created in 2019, so the cgi isn't that bad for when it was made and for how much they had for a 40-episode budget*.

I was too lazy to get up and change the channel/movie/episode. (My TV is hooked to my PC, so I have to get up and configure it. If I need to change whatever I am watching.) I just let this movie play, while I was resting and it honestly wasn't that bad. It had a few tearjerker moments of the hardships with life and not getting ahead, no matter how hard you try.
Romance? Not really or none. Instead, it has a drunk father/husband that keeps the family down. However, there is this guy friend of the female lead which you can sort of sense the "connection" between the two but the female's (societal) morales on how a mother/female "should" behave usually kicks in.
Worth watching? Meh, 50/50 - in my opinion. If you're looking for an inspirational movie, maybe then this could be a latter choice.
This is one strange tv series but it's a solid 90's horror jdrama. With the gore, rated R "sex" scenes, monsters, comedy, etc. Highly worth watching if you are someone who grew up watching 90s Japanese Drama's.

I think the TV show is called "Taiwan Paranormal Events" - it's not listed here on MDL. Google: 台灣靈異事件 - And the series will show up and can find the 400+ episodes.
I've been watching more dramas on Tubi lately and it's been a rollercoaster for me. I love time travel dramas and food dramas. This seemed like a huge win but was not a fan of how it kept pulling towards romance and then back to time travel/food, up ⬆️ down ↗️ up ➡️ down ↘️, 🤢.
I stuck with it thought because I'm curious on how the drama will use Novikov's self-consistency conjecture. IMO it starts to pick up around episode's 6 & 7, think I shed a few tears during scenes with empathic resonance.

Actually, finished this drama, even though I would have last the last episode unwatched. I prefer to mentally leave storylines open to imagination but, I wasn't paying attention to the episode count. Next thing I realized Tubi auto played and saw the male lead dead. Ugh while I hate sad endings because we emotional watch dramas to escape real life. I actually prefer the hard-core reality of mundane life.
While watching the dramas of fantasy, rich people or vigilante killers are entertaining. They won't motivate you to do more things with your own life. Instead, those dramas make you addicted to them. This drama gives off a vibe on how you should inspire to push through shit and never give up.
Side note, while researching a few things historically about this drama I found that there is a debate on how this drama was inspired by the 2001 Chinese drama 'Da Zhai Men'.
There is English subs on the Cambodia or Vietnamese versions. However, I need to watch content in their original audio soundtracks. I will take the subs from the Vietnamese videos and time align them with the HK version.
