Did anyone else really struggle to get into this because of the age of the actors? It seems like a good series/movie,…
Lol, I feel you, I used to have the same problem, but then we moved to an apartment next to a high school and some of these kids look a lot older than Taemin and Dowoo. If they weren't in their uniforms, you couldn't tell they're high schoolers. :D

Yeah, I know about that, but I got so used to the Youtube versions being cut (not sure when it changed, but I remember really struggling trying to find uncut content on Youtube), so I usually watch it on iQIYI. πŸ˜‚

No problem! As far as I know, (lately) all Thai BLs that do have spicy stuff in them do two versions - cut (on Youtube, in this case GMMTV's channel) and uncut (iQIYI). ^^

Hey, anyone know whats the diff between this and the uncut version?
The uncut version always has the spicy stuff in it. The cut is usually suitable for all audiences and usually streams on Youtube. Hope this helps!

No problem, I glad it helped at least someone to better understand. :) Yeah, idk what whas that with Juyeong and Dohoe's dad. Maybe Juyeong thought keeping in touch with him will make looking for Dohoe easier? But why would it, when Dohoe literally said that he will leave dad and never look back? It's odd.

Can someone explain what was going on in episode seven??
Are you referring to the CSAT - the exam tickets? Or what confused you? :)

FIRST HALF WAS SO GOOOOD. it was these kids trying to afford to run away to escape this abuse and then...it JS…
I have to agree on Juyeong keeping in touch with Dohoe's dad was weird. I think they made him too forgiving for the sake of the story, there was literally no other reason. But I totally understand why Dohoe cut him off those years ago. He was aware he was getting violent (and a manipulative liar) like his father. I grew up in abusive household and I was intentionally AVOIDING and HIDDING from my friends, because I was scared of them seeing me for what I was at the time, a ball of rage. I was someone scared of (even unintentionally) hurting people close to me, because that's how I relieved the stress, with more anger and lies. I knew no other outlet. Years in therapy and it's getting better. It doesn't go away, but you have to learn healthy coping mechanics instead. So I feel for him, the PTSD, the depression, lying... Not saying he's a good person, but he probably can't see a way out even with his father being dead (the drinking on meds is a tell). It's only up to him to break the toxic cycle he's been trapped in for so long.

(I made few edits, as it's kinda hard to form coherent sentences on a topic that cuts deep. Sorry about that. :D)

As someone who's been into queer cinema for longer than a decade now and grew up on queer baiting and sad endings for most LGBTQIA+ coded movies, I do agree there was a queer plot happening. Even my husband noticed it and he's usually super oblivious to these themes. :D I think they probably got scared of how it's gonna be perceived while they have big names tied to this title, so in the end they opted out of pursuing the topic any further. I happens a lot in Korea, sadly. It's a shame, but it was still nice surprise nevertheless.

Some of the shots are truly superb. I wish they would remake it with more fleshed out script, I would eat that sht up.

Oh man thai bls and their forced product placements, some worse then others! πŸ˜†
I'm actually glad it's non-disruptive like here and not like it used to be in older dramas, where they HAD to describe the product, having it in the show in 5 seconds long shot wasn't enough. πŸ˜‚

Because of her attitude towards others. What we’ve seen so far is she is two faced. I see where they’re trying…
I knoooow. T_T To be honest with you... I kinda liked Maya in the manga. :D The thing is, Kouhei is really easily influenced and swayed. I guess it's because he didn't have any friends growing up, when his hearing started being fecky. If I recall correctly, she's in the story to help / to be a scapegoat for Kouhei to finally make up his mind and be more firm with his decisions. We still have 3 episodes to go, I'm sure they will utilize her character as much as possible. Or I hope so, else she's gonna become just another annoying female character. And I'm quite tired of the producers doing stuff like that. Female characters get enough hate as it is... :')

I understand that people don't like Maya, because she can be suuuper protective of Kouhei, which results in her being mean, but why is she getting so much shit, when Kouhei just lets himself to be dragged around? They both piss me off sometimes. πŸ˜„

I don't think Natsume was ever in love with Tanouchi. I think it was more so admiration. Idk if Tahashi became…
In manga Natsume refers to Tanouchi as his 'unrequited love', so it did start as one sided crush. And I think they wanted to keep it that way here, but it's not working, because the fact, that Natsume is crushing on Tanouchi is a major plot point and reason why even Natsume 'gets' with Sahashi. Sahashi uses the fact to blackmail Natsume into sex.

Title Cosmetic Playlover Spoiler
I feel like Natsume's character is not really working out because they skipped on a large chunk of lore from the manga, which explains why is Natsume the way he is. There's a reason for him being hot and cold with Sahashi and they didn't include that in here. Not sure if they will include it later on, but doubt it. Without knowing his background, they degraded him to just another unlikable BL male lead. It's a shame. I understand 8 episodes are not a sufficient run time while adapting ongoing manga, but what they came up with ain't it.

Also, the tag s 'Forced Kiss' and 'Friends With Benefits' is not really working here, because that was part of the plot in the manga, but they skipped it. Natsume and Toma started as FWBs and that happened only after Sahashi assaulted him in the changing rooms at work...

But I do love Nanjo and his accent, something positive for now. :D
