Romance That Happens in a Small Town + Beautiful Beach Scenery
The heading is not even spoiler but why do I feel like it is? Haha!Anywayssss, I binged this series last night and it was an enjoyable watch. I like the story so far but the acting is another good reason you must watch this one.
The casts are amazing too. I like the pairing, the side characters and the romance.
Should you watch it? Absolutely yes!

Great Cast, Promising Premise, Disappointing Delivery
I really wanted this drama to be good. The premise has potential, the cast lineup is strong, and I went in genuinely excited to see where the story would go. But honestly… it’s sad to say this one’s a flop.Five episodes in, and I still couldn’t tell what direction the story was heading. The pacing drags on and on without any real emotional or narrative depth to keep you hooked. It’s like the plot is wandering aimlessly, leaving the viewers wondering “okay, where is this going?” And four/five episodes didn’t provide solid and interesting answers.
The “I should keep watching this show” factor is what I’ll say is missing.
Also, some of the scenes felt very low-grade, especially the VFX. Instead of adding magic or charm, they made the whole production feel cheap. And that’s the most disappointing part: there are great actors here, people you’d expect to shine in a fantasy drama…but the writing and execution just didn’t give them the material they deserved.
The story has so much potential, but the execution completely missed the mark. Sadly, I have to drop it.
Oh, but one thing I did like about the show is the child Ka-Young, she’s a good actress. And I like the grandmother-granddaughter relationship too.

Yes, Finally! A Kdrama That Actually Entertained Till The End
Not to sound weird but I haven’t watched a kdrama that kept me hooked until the end in a veryyyyyy long time!Not until this one!
Honestly, I was sceptical about watching at first for so many reasons. One, I don’t like sci-fi series, two…whatever that’s not the point of this review.
So, back to the point, I honestly wasn’t expecting to enjoy this show as much as I did but it surprisingly held my attention from start to finish.
It’s a good watch for sure. Love all the comedy too and the little side romance. I don’t have anything negative to say about this show.
Now, religious people or extremists might find this show a bit hard-to-watch which understandably so because it subtly critiques the problem of extremism.
Anyways I have to say this show is my cup of tea and I hope there’s a second season soon.

Started Out Okay, But The Ending Is.…
Liked this story at the beginning and it really started out as such a fun watch, but I'm not sure what happened, the ending is such a letdown.Literally came here to see if episode 10 is actually the ending because it makes no sense to me?
I wouldn't even exactly call this a BL, maybe a fluffy bromance family drama? I don't know.
I really enjoyed the cute and loving family dynamics tho (I've always liked dramas centered around familial relationship, so maybe it's another reason I might be a bit biased about this one) it wasn't a terrible show but the romance aspect is LACKING.
Romance? What romance? There was nothing that actually expressed the ML and MC's love to be honest.
It’s just like they were good friends and didn't even have to force the whole romance thing. Could have just made it a bromance show and everything would be fine.
Wait, is this a BL? Sorry, let me check because if it is then that's super weird. Nothing about the story gave that, but it's okay if you want to watch something fluffy and cute.
Also, the doggo (Rock) was such a cutie so I loved it for that too.
Anyways, you can watch it but don't expect romance between two men.

Shouldn’t Have Adapted This Story…
First of all, why is it even vertical? Second, why even bother to make an adaptation of this story? Idk it's just off.I already knew it was going to be nothing like the manhwa (which understandably so) and that's again why I wonder who even suggested adapting this.
I think Painter of the Night is just one of those stories that should not be tampered with. It's a manhwa and should remain so.
There's just no live adaptation that could do justice to the story.
I would rate this a five for the effort and nothing else. It was not an enjoyable watch for me (not the biggest fan of the storyline and everything either) so there's that too.
Anyways, just read the manhwa if you feel like it. It tells the story better.

Just Watch The Animated Version Instead
Lol, I already knew this would be an epic fail.I watched the animated version first (many months ago) and that was such a good watch.
When this came out, I was surprised and thought, “why?!” But the girl got curious so I decided to watch it, lmfaooo, it was ridiculously funny. The actors did not deliver AT ALL. There’s nothing to praise about this show. It was a gruesome watch.
So, don’t be like me, save your time, just watch the animated version instead and don’t bother with this one.

Solid Plot, Mehh Chemistry, Fish Kiss
This really just took me back to the early BL days with the fish kisses lol, but what a way to start a review.Ummm, the plot is great for sure but would have needed more than 6 episodes to flesh it out perfectly and I think they did utilise the 6 episodes well, but it wasn’t enough.
There was not much romantic build up between the characters, chemistry was lacking, and the fish kiss too lol (would have been better without it) did the actors lips even touch? I honestly thought this was behind us in big 2026.
Also, the ending was so rushed and just filled with …nothing.
Now, should you watch it? Maybe? I did, so you may too, just don’t expect too much from it.

Could Have Had a Happy Ending…
I still don't understand why this couldn't have had a happy ending... I mean, why not?Also, I wouldn't call this a “BL” show but it is a show about two men who love each other.
I don't have a lot to say about this one honestly. I don't even know how I feel about it. It just feels like the tragedy is so forced and it could have had a happy ending but okay I guess

2 Hot Men, 10 Dance: A Work of Art
What I felt while watching this movie, I can’t explain it with words, but let me try.This film is driven by music, movement, and intense emotion. And I felt every bit of it, every single bit of it.
The dancing is both sensual and powerful, not just because of the skill involved, but because of what it represents. They move through many styles; classic professional dances and then Latin dances filled with passion and intensity. And the actors nailed the performance. God, those men!!!!
At the center of this story are two men slowly falling in love. And this love is what will eventually give meaning to the dancing; it’s what turns technique into expression. We’re not just watching them dance, we feel their desire, vulnerability, and longing through every step.
By the end, the film leaves you inspired. It makes you feel like you could dance too, even if you never have before.
It’s emotional, beautifully crafted, and simply a very very good watch.
Can’t wait for the second season! 10/10 for this one!

It’s Great Until You Decide to Rewatch It…
Loved this show when I first watched it (now I wonder how…)Rewatched it a couple of days ago and I just shouldn’t have. It has quickly shifted from a show I love to a show I used to love.
Why?
The romance/chemistry between the ML and FL is actually LACKING in many ways. They have no chemistry and a rewatch will show you that.
The second ML and FL were quite good BUT the romance could use more work as well.
I honestly don’t know how I feel about this after rewatching, but I’ll say it’s a show you should only watch ONCE!

We Deserve a Second Season…
It was a good watch but should have been longer.I like the story, the angst, the acting, the chemistry, but not the ending.
The ending is just unacceptable. We deserve at least an episode or two to see their lovely happy ending.
Anyways, taking what we can get, but if you're wondering if you should give this one a chance, you should.

Talk About a Good Kdrama…
This was definitely a very good watch.Now, it’s not a show for everyone but it is a great show.
This Kdrama touches on some really heavy themes and it’s as intense as it gets, but all in a very very good way.
I have so many good things to say about it, but I’ll just tell you to watch it if you haven’t yet.

It’s Actually Not Even That Bad…
I mean I have watched worse BLs and personally I did not hate this one.It’s just one of those lighthearted JBLs to watch “on a rainy day” (see what I did there? 😉)
Anywayssss, about the story? It’s nothing too intense but slightly intense? I feel like the show would have been better with a simple and ordinary storyline. But it seems the writer wanted the story to be “deep and touching” but that didn’t really happen so the plot kinda fell in between?
None of what I’ve said makes sense to you??? Okay! Okay! Watch it and you’ll see what I mean…
