I'm gonna go out on a limb and say it's likely in the source. For example lots of smoking in Japanese Yaoi/Shounen…
I'm not saying it's a big deal but I've noticed it and that might be due the restrictions in my own country regarding smoking. When I was a kid, people smoked on TV and there were even tobacco commercials, but that hasn't been the case since the 2000s.I've watched a lot of BL series from Japan, China, Korea, and Thailand, and I can say with certainty that, from last year, there are more and more smokers in BL series. 🚬🚬🚬
*Before, instead of word "trend", I should have used the word "tendency".😝

They smoke in the mahhwa and book that's why.
I wasn't referring just to this particular one. In most current BL shows , even those that aren't based on a mahhwa and book, there are smokers everywhere.

I wasn't referring just to this particular one, but to most of the current BL shows, even those that aren't based on a manhwa or book. It just caught my attention that lately I've been seeing a lot of smokers in BL series, when for years you didn't see any.

In my country, for several years now, no one smokes on TV or in movies. I've noticed that lately, on bl, everyone smokes (by the way, you can tell pretty clearly when the actors don't actually smoke)—does anyone know what's behind this trend?

The fact that they're justifying her ex-boyfriend hitting her is sickening (I don't care if she cheated on him or stole his money)... and that nobody did anything while he was slapping her and dragging her to the car... outrageous

Japanese always make a mess with time representation. They say 07/26 12:10 am , when they are probably referring…
Anyway, MDL has set the air date for the first episode as July 26, 2026, at 5:35 p.m., but that´s due to time zone difference 🙃😅: 27th 00:35 in Japan is 26th 17:35 in most of Europe.

I do think it was a jerk move to say that to Tanrak, but also at the same time I understand why Kongdech felt…
Although I can understand that he feels hurt because his friend didn’t share this with him, he can’t say that Tanrak betrayed him: Tanrak isn’t obligated to tell him something that has nothing to do with him. Both of these things—being with Barth and not going to the seminary—are personal decisions that don’t directly concern him. How can either of them be considered a betrayal toward him?
Not to mention all those passive-aggressive comments instead of just asking outright...

so which is which?
Personally, I loved it, but everyone has their own tastes, so it's up to you whether you watch it or not and decide for yourself whether you like it or not.

“Gelboys” showed Thai bl industry that there are other highly original and innovative ways to tell a story. Even if you’re not a Thai gay teenager who loves gel nails and social media, you can still relate perfectly to all the emotions portrayed, because they’re universal and have been depicted in a raw and sincere way. The director and the cast did an incredible job. It’s clear that their goal was to tell a simple story as honestly as possible.
...And you can tell, just after watching the first episode of this one that it won´t have any of that.

Terrible final episode. Completely anticlimatic. The ending felt rushed to me and with 0 true emotions, Who buys Nao’s “love”? Not believable at all; it almost seemed like he had just gone with the flow… “Do I have to love you?” “Well… okay, I don’t have anything better to do.”
And I still don’t understand why they talk about being part of the mafia as if it were a totally normal job, like going to the office."Bye, darling, Don´t be late for lunch and don´t get hurt, you know, guns can be kind of lethal, Oh, and between murders, remember that you still have to play a game.”

For those who are wondering, No, this has absolutely nothing to do with Gelboys. The substance, The tone, the direction, the acting...absolutely nothing to do. While one was a gem, the other is a nonsense.

So should I watch it or not
🤷🏽‍♀️Watch the first episode and decide for yourself. What one person doesn't like, another might actually enjoy.
