Great drama, very much an unsung gem. I absolutely love all the main characters and actually wish I had gone into it without knowing Wuxin is immortal so that the reveal had the proper impact (but. you know, it's in the description)
On another sort of Useful Comment, this is not your regular Zhao Li Si drama. There is a lot of comedy but it slowly gets serious and the romance is important but not all-consuming. A lot more plot than her usual fare (no shade, I'm just informing people that are looking for fluff. This ain't)
An update on the person that said the youtube subtitles are okay to terrible. No. They're bad to terrible. There are skipped lines, summed up dialogues, wrongly translated idioms. It's really bad. Look for a fansub.
What's up with this drama's synopsis keeping the transmigration aspect (which is not in the drama bc Weird Censorships Hills) and making the story sound like a Nice Girl Forced Into Marriage thing?
Started watching this because I needed an emotional break (like, from the world) and it was an Excellent Life Decision. I would have fallen for Wei Yi the moment he started to explain the physics of spinning tops because that's the sort of human I am
The best thing I can tell you is that with entertainment, regardless if it's reading, watching drama, playing videogames or whatever, the moment something begins to feel like a chore, you should drop it. Life is too short to watch something you don't really want.
*watches episode 9*Is this story secretly about depression? Because I'm here for it if it is
False alarm guys, they kinda wasted a pretty nice theme here This series is generally bogged down with repetitive scenes and those slow camera pans (I think they were going for "serene" but it just looks slow). And the repetitive dialogue, for gods' sake! People discuss things over and over, it saps the momentum off the story.
Oy this is a mess Consider that what you have said boils down to: women only like things because there are hot men in them = women's likes are always related to men = women always like men
Seriously, A Mess. Since you wrote it, I assume you're good with being lectured by people that object sternly. I suggest unpacking a bit of that sexism, it will do you good, since you're obviously very young.
People come here talking about this series being smart, having proper romance, good comedy and good acting and, well, it's true, but do you know what's the best part for me? All the writing jokes. The bits with the storytellers are a gift, the moments she goes "oh noes the plot" are crazy fun and that thing about making plans just to see your characters ruin them is *chef's kiss*
I know a lot of people come to the comments to get a feel of the series, so let me tell you two very important things: - This series is actually about the female struggle. The lead faces a large amount of sexism, yes, but there is also a broad cast of women with different status, personalities and relationships. There is sorority and female friendship - Wallace Huo got a complex character with a broad range of emotions and went to town with it. Every single scene with him is amazing, scenes with him and Cecilia Liu are outstanding (also the 12th episode has one of the cutest sequences I've ever seen)

I now declare Yu MingYe my sweet himbo son who I'll protect with my life.

Fyi: some of the rabid fangirls are lesbians.

So I guess I'm watching it?
