Because the author wanted her to choose nds and for that she couldn't bring the letters back to the storyline. They were major points to the other guy.

Another plot hole. Hjp helped a impossible number of times Samsan guys and was the one who said to nds go after sdm. Also he is almost a grandson to Halmoni, spending 3 years helping and visiting family at holydays. It doesn't make sense to his ending not be included in the photographs. It would even more affirm that in the end nds grown from his imature jealousy being and they grown as friends. Him not be there means that the fairy tale ending the writer wanted us to swallow didn't make sense.
Also Smiley has the dream job rn, they made others promises too like jump in ice water and she didn't forget I'm sure
