Well I’ll say… it was REALLY painful in so many ways to watch this drama!

I wouldn’t be able to watch it ‘cuz I like Godfrey since 2012, but I’ve never watched his dramas (‘cuz that time was hard to find Chinese dramas for westerns online), and I thought twice before watch it since he’s not here anymore =( , it was painful to see his smile, his face again. But I got over it and watch it.

It was painful to see SO MANY WRONG things in this drama!
(I will not consider that it was released 2013 and the wrong things were “right” that time)

In the first episode I was like: what’s going on here?? I had a fake smile the whole episode! I didn’t know if I was smiling ‘cuz it was starting to get a little bit funny or if it was getting a little bit embarrassing. (I know that eastern and western cultures are different, what’s funny for eastern maybe is not for a western and vice versa).

The second episode was really funny mainly the guys and the beer scene!

The third episode was heartbreaking (I saw some spoilers online that Godfrey kissed Sunny Wang and I thought … maybe it’s a boy’s love drama – that’s why I choose to watch it), up to this episode the drama was "ok", after episode 4 the drama went downhill!!

There are lots of sexist jokes, spank a gay man 'cuz he was wearing a bride dress ??, make fun of the female body (the small boobs joke that was really annoying), this “spoiled girlfriend” character that is in EVERY Chinese drama is REALLY REALLY REALLY FREAKYING ANNOYING!! But I think it’s something cultural that they like girls like that, so… I have to deal with it in every drama I watch.

In Episode 4 the girlfriend says to his boyfriend “Did I asked you to help me? I just wanted him to RAPE ME, so what?” R-A-P-E-M-E!!! IT’S NOT FUNNY!!!!!!! It’s so wrong in so many ways!!! girls live frightened ‘cuz of cases of rape and they make a joke of it like it was nothing!?? Just ‘cuz she wanted to revenge him, really?? It was unnecessary!

After episode 6 I just gave up watch all the scenes and watched only the ones Godfrey was acting (I have never done that to ANY drama, series, movies even when the script pad out to make it longer) but I did here, I didn’t watch episode 8 ‘cuz I was sick of the same jokes, bullying, etc.

So I don’t recommend the drama if you have a sharper social awareness (2020), if you don’t care or watch it like a 2013 person would, maybe you’ll like it.

To say something good, Godfrey rocked it! I thought he was those slapstick actors that Chinese dramas also LOVE to show us (like the annoying girlfriend), but he was serious and not exaggerated, I was impressed by his acting skills!
