Oh yea it’s definitely more approachable. He liked her initially during university days, so that means that…
This is a good point ... In China, especially ... I feel relationships are not really black and white. We have seen our Chinese friends sending their new borns to China to be raised by grandparents. I could never do that! But I think the cultural revolution and practicality shape social context too.

It's intense pressure everywhere. I just read a comment from the Korean director of Lovely Runner ... he said rating is so important because so much investment is on the line.

Oh no, really! Only for Love is not good from the reviews ... But they also said that there is no couple chemistry between the leads in that one. I didn't watch it because I only watch a few shows with actors that I like.

I think this is ok for me too ... it's real life. What do we expect him to do? She already got engaged with another guy. I don't like these extra relationships either but as long as they find each other at the end, it's fine with me.

I don't know how times I have seen the drama failed the novels in Chinese drama... it's all based on the director and producer. I think the only one that didn't fail the novel for me was Love Like the Galaxy. It's due to a good director.

I hope the director of this drama is good?

Maybe this will change in the drama too? Maybe they don't have a relationship like that in the drama?

There's bound to be some plot holes with the changes. That's for sure! The Double has so many plot holes but still does well because it's entertaining. I rather have equal time with the leads than in Who Rule the World - a lot of fillers for the ML when the FL supposed to be the main character in the novel. I think they changed the story so that XK will have more screen time. This is why I think it's probably good for the drama and more entertaining to watch.

But in the trailers, he's not serious like in the book ... they made fun of him ... see how he tripped on the stairs? :-) and other instances too.

I like him in the novel too (huge fan of this novel that I read other books by the same author!) ... But I think the new development translates to screen better ... now a days, dramas tend to include some comic relief ...

I think as long as there is couple chemistry and no plot holes, it will be good. I just finished watching The Double. They changed the plot, even made the serious duke funny, but the drama has good couple chemistry, good acting, no draggy time fillers, and happy ending ... everyone is happy and ranked it a 9.0!

I like this beginning better. It was kind boring in the book without HT ... It seems like the airplane shown in the trailer is probably when he returns to China.

I really like the couple chemistry shown in both trailers. Seven really fits this role. And I think to make HT more realistic, they changed HT's character. I like the change ... more likable ... not the typical unapproachable CEO type. XK's acting and facial expressions look good for this new role. It will be fun to watch.

As expected: 7/2 release date (YaY) ... The new trailer shows the college days? I am hoping the beginning will be changed as HT character didn't have that much presence in the beginning of the book. This will make the development much more of a surprise. With this change I expect him to be more approachable because he seems to like her from the beginning.

Ok have we gotten rid of all the annoying complaints about agism? Let's move on. From NOW ON I will block people who complain about age gap as I don't want to deal with their baggage.
Sorry I am not your therapist, teacher, or parents. I don't want to read any more negativity.

Well I can digest the fantasy historical dramas, but this drama says life, family drama, so I can't 😂😂😂…
My parents were 10 years apart in age ... and most of their generation is like that. As I said, go learn how agism prejudice works ... maybe you can learn to be more empathetic human first ... it's more important to be a better person first than "digesting" the kissing scenes ...

For people who voice concerns about age gap: Agism is a prejudice that everyone needs to overcome. It's just like racism and other inherent conditioned human prejudices.

https://www.bbc.com/worklife/article/20220317-age-gaps-the-relationship-taboo-that-wont-die

For those who ask about reversed agism: please watch Korean dramas (for example the Glory) or Chinese drama The Double. The drama is rated 8.9 on MDL right now. The FL is 32 and the MLs (Yes, both) are 22!!!

Age has nothing to do with chemistry, plot, acting, directing etc .... Please keep your private prejudices to yourself. We don't need to hear any more negativity about agism if you are bias.

However, I would love to hear real analysis about the drama ... please share something helpful to the community who is waiting to see this drama. Thank you.
