what fans were complaining about the most was the fact that they failed to account for william and ests busy schedule despite their show airing and not even getting basic levels of promotion without having to complain loud enough for it to trend.
pam was also a sure-fire way to make money and yet it was promoted better. fans complained that literally every other cp got basic promotion, even those arguably more famous, but you maniac did not. we know they wont get a lot of promotion bc they dont need to - but demanding the basics that LITERALLY everyone else gets is not too much and there is no excuse for that. this amount of lack of care is disrespectful to the fans and the actors, even if its about money bc in that case, it should apply for everyone successful and it doesnt.

so far, gmmtv has done less than the bare minimum to promote the show and also limited possibilities to access it

these last fews days people have mostly been complaining about there being no episode 0 - since that is sth that could have been prepared in advance. fans have been very understanding about there not being a press tour and are now only getting even angrier bc gmmtv has shown to lack preparation even in the things that do not need william and ests active participation (episode 0 or even getting a proper count down announcement that doesnt look like it was made within 5 minutes)
william is indeed busy, but its also the companys job to figure out his schedule in a way that makes it possible for him to promote the show.

i get tingyues frustration though - zhao ling just wouldnt communicate with her and tell her whats going on. zhao ling was the one who stopped letting her in into his thoughts and explain his reasons. from her perspective, zhao ling would suddenly no longer talk things through with her and he would do things she couldnt understand. even when she questions him, he doesnt give her a real answer. this plus the years they have spent apart - how could she not thing he has changed? she doesnt blame zhao ling for killing her father - she blames him for doing sth she considers unnecessary and dangerous if found out. She doesnt know that zhao ling killed her father bc her father killed her mother. she doesnt know bc zhao ling wouldnt tell her, so she blames him for being reckless. from her perspective, she isnt wrong. why do people blame her for not being able to read zhao lings mind???

i kinda understand it though. imagine telling your wife, who is a commoner and who you are very much in love with, that you actually are a marquis and general famous for being ruthless - when he knows that she fancies scholars. he just really doesnt want her to change the way she thinks of him.
additionally, judging by the previews, yz was put in a very weird position where the person he loves broke military rules. he has to uphold justice and punish rules being broken as to uphold morale in his military but at the same time he cant bring himself to punish his wife - so he decides to take the punishment as her husband. he cant do that (at least easily) as xie zheng bc he either needs to announce publically that changyu is his wife (officially, she sent him a divorce letter and he likely does not want to force her), she made a mistake and he would be bearing the punishment in her stead
of course, the miscommunication is annoying but to me, it makes sense for yan zhengs character
