Thanks for this well-written deep dive into the drama and its characters! You pointed out a lot of things I loved about the drama, particularly the characters themselves. Both the main leads and the antagonists were so compelling to watch. I agree and love that the main leads truly felt like partners and that the female lead also played a critical role in the investigation and story. I absolutely despise a relationship built on misunderstandings and forced romantic tension (too common in Korean dramas), so I loved how their relationship development was more organic and emotionally earned.
Thanks for your review! I binge watched this over a few days and started rewatching it right away with a couple others. It is soooo good! I honestly just expected a silly superhero comedy, but it ended up having a lot of meaning and heart. The cast did an amazing job. The idea isn't anything new, but the production and writing made it their own.
Thank you for your insightful review! I just binge watched this drama in a few days, and it surprised me in a good way. I honestly didn't expect it to be as deep as it was. I love how you dived into the underlying themes of the show, which is what made this show feel more meaningful, relatable, and grounded despite its sci fi elements. I didn't even think about how the manifested powers related to the characters' emotional voids! My mind is blown and it just makes me appreciate the writing more. I'm still processing the series after my watch marathon and will want to leave a review eventually!
Tbh the romance is cheesy and cringe worthy and the palace intrigue is nothing interesting. I always disliked the whole concept of pitting women against each other over a man too. The only reason I'm watching this is for the food. All the dishes look so good and the little tidbits of food history is interesting.
Better than I expected. The reddest flag still with Love & Bid Farewell, easily.
I just finished watching Love & Bid Farewell. Definitely the most yandere male lead I've watched. The plot and drama were not that good, but I kept watching to see the emotional sh*t show lol. Yan Zi Xian seems to play a lot of cold, yandere male leads lately and I think he pulls it off pretty well.
Thanks for your review. Yandere male leads can be compelling to watch or read for me, but I notice I still typically like yandere green flags who respect their partners, haha. Still, this sounds intriguing and I'm curious to watch it. I'm surprised the content passed censorship.
I thought the same when I tried to watch Love between Fairy and Devil and didn't continue, but I enjoy Love Game…
Not yet, but I plan to watch Moonlight soon because Esther and DYX's chemistry is off-the-charts in Love Game. Mu Sheng x Ling Miao Miao are easily one of my favorite drama couples. I haven't finished Love Game yet, but I know I'll miss these characters a lot when I'm done. 🥹
I refuse to watch anything with Esther Yu in it. I can't stand her voice and she is a terrible actress. Anyone…
I thought the same when I tried to watch Love between Fairy and Devil and didn't continue, but I enjoy Love Game in Eastern Fantasy a lot. There are definitely parts where her acting tries too hard to be cute, but she and Ding Yuxi are just so fun to watch together and the drama is quite good.
