hole in the plotline? didn't he say it's been 3 years? So how did they encounter the rainy season problem only…
It's not a plothole. Because he didn't move in for 3 years. It's 3 years since Segasaki offered the contract, but Yoh just moved in for about several months so this is their first rainy season together. According to sensei, Yoh just moved in since March or April. He didn't just move in rite away after the offer. I think the way Yoh narrates the story causes misunderstanding. After watching ep 2, you will know why Yoh is an unreliable narrator.

One important information that I think I need to tell you all because many things will make more sense after this: They HAVE NOT BEEN LIVING together for 3 years. It's 3 years since Segasaki OFFERED the contract, but Tanada has only MOVED IN for about A FEW MONTHS since he just moved in since March or April or something. This information is "canon" - from sensei's tweets. Because they have just started to co-habit recently, they are still new to each other's life and of course their misunderstanding/ miscommunication makes more sense. So please don't think Tanada is "traumatized" or "abused" in three years because it's definitely neither an abuse nor 3 years. This is also their first rainy season together so that's why Tanada was shocked to hear about that at the end of the 1st ep.
I hope this information will clear up some misunderstanding here.

I agree that the timeline of when Tanada moved in is vague. He mentions “it’s been 3 years since then,” but is he referring to moving in or the contract offer? It seems he just moved in because they never have sex when it rains, and Tanada is worried that he won’t be able to make it that long without it. If this has been going on for 3 years, he should be used to it by now, so I believe this is a new living arrangement…..

They set the stage for this to be dark as hell, and Japan does dark very well. I don’t want this to be a heavily traumatic dark drama for Segasaki. I highly doubt it, but I hope the reason he doesn’t have sex when it rain is some misunderstanding, or stupid reason like he doesn’t want the sheets to get wet in the rain. If it turns out to be something ridiculous, this will be one of my favorite BLs.
