I went in skeptical because I always had some issues with this screenwriter's other works - also reason why I didn't start this earlier, but I still wanted to because of the cast. I'm pleasantly surprised that I fully enjoyed this drama. 2 main points that I did not like from her other works (Ichiban Suki na Hana, Umi no Hajimari) are how scripted they feel and a lot of times, preachy (especially the latter). Even though Silent still feels scripted at times, especially with the dialogues feeling unnatural sometimes - it wasn't as jarring. I wonder if it's because for half of the show they talk with sign language and I wouldn't notice anything off. I was worried it get preachy from the earlier episodes with Minato & Haruo's conversation at the bar, but I think the messages ended up being delivered well throughout the whole drama.
It's not bad, but it's also not special and forgettable so sometimes I want to just drop it. But whenever I feel like giving up on this drama, the comedy and side characters kept me from it. The humor is this drama's strength imo, and I stayed for those side characters' storylines. Really don't like the writing for the villains though; just a petty and greedy person with no remorse and depth.
Oh no. I dont really watch Kdramas because of those kind of tropes. But I love Shison π
The plot and tropes honestly very reminiscing of Kdramas. I don't mind that in general, but I especially don't enjoy typical Kdrama-type villains that's on here unfortunately π
I'm also watching this for the cast, mainly Taiga (it's my first Jun Shison drama, but I like him here). I think knowing the cast is what helps me go through this drama lol, also there's at least that little bit of that heartwarming side (they interact with kids a lot at the children canteen).
Despite the comedy (which is also delivered really well), I knew this was going to hurt from the trailers that I skipped watching initially, but it got so much praise so I got FOMO lol. It's painful as expected, but I'm glad I ended up watching. Ryoma's performance is superb in here and of course, the good writing and execution really made it worth to watch. One thing I didn't expect is the friendships budding and how prominent that is to the story, which I really like. Also glad Viki subbed the OST, because they lyrics is a huge addition- it really made the episodes hit even more.
This is filled with Kdrama tropes lol. I am curious on how they will handle the villains at the end. Usually Jdrama are more forgiving and show the characters human side and give them redemption (unless it's those late night revenge dramas). Kdramas can be more harsh, give the villains a taste of their own medicine and punish them in some ways. The villains here are more like Kdrama villains so far, just being evil.
I love seeing Yume and Mio's growing relationship, but I cannot stand any of the side characters, they piss me off so bad I had to pause every few minutes π
I have subbed this series https://www.bitchute.com/channel/qc6oYDwWDBMz
Hi, I am looking at the link and there are no videos for this series - will you be reuploading it or is it available elsewhere? Thanks so much for your subs btw! (I'm watching ERROR with your subs)
What a twist at the end. The wholesomeness, heartwarming moments, and the slight mystery that maket it all the more intriguing.. this was such a great watch from beginning to end! Love the OST as well, Motohiro Hata is such a great choice.
That ending feels so rushed. I feel empty now... I get that they want to go the realistic route, but the build up was not it. They were still connecting okay until literally the last 2 minutes π₯²
