one of the best dramas this year tbh i know some people were frustrated by the angst near the later eps but honestly, the angst was bearable because the ML and FL were 100% in it together and clearly devoted to each other ... i never even had expectations of them having a long honeymoon or whatever because 1. this doesn't seem like that kind of drama and 2. they don't seem like that kind of couple lol

10/10 for chemistry and acting and bomb ass OST
10/10 for a bulkload of trash men that's not the ML
plot i didn't feel was boring and i felt made sense and tied up nicely, even if it wasn't the most riveting or surprising

FL's trash dad really is for the record books

10/10 on the acting but their chemistry is like a 11/10 it's crazy

i actually LOVE the FL - she's headstrong and is vocal about what she wants but she's never arrogant ... she acknowledges her achievements when ppl bring it up but she clearly doesn't think she's better than anyone else

ML kneeling on the ground and offering his hands as a stepladder so that she doesn't get her clothes wet GODDDDDD

episode 12 is literally peak romance

ive always liked DYX as an actor but this is my first time watching a drama with the FL and she is seriously acting her ass off like wow i actually feel so much empathy for her as a character

them getting close bc the FL is the one teaching the ML instead is actually SO cute lol i love the role reversal

i want to like this so badly but 2 episodes in and it already comes off as incredibly corny - the number of times of "you've fallen for her" and "it's that incense again" is killing me

tbh by the end of the drama i really feel the second leads really overtook the main leads in terms of emotional impact and chemistry

honestly... i think the plot and humour rly fell off after around episode 34 or so
also i know the emperor is meant to be portrayed as someone dumb and inexperienced but the way they tried to make his whole character humorous was overkill and just not funny imo

when he kneeled in front of her and begged her to be his empress.................. damn

the shots of her butchering a pig while slicing into lord changxin was chefs kiss

LOVE how TXW actually looks so strong and capable in fight scenes

the second lead couple is so fucked up LOL like that man is an actual fucking psycho and i feel sooooo bad that she has to play along

i'm so glad that TXW is getting more attention because she is literally giving a masterclass in acting for this drama

oh man the absolute amount of tears i shed in episode 18 ;_____;
the way she helped even the people that constantly talked down to her and they in turn ended up protecting her and her loved ones

absolutely LOVED the first episode, it was such a good mix of effortless humour and earnestness. can already feel the chemistry & both are fantastic actors ... now i gotta pace myself so i don't end up binge watching 10 episodes a day
