A melancholic yet powerful message ?
I absolutely LOVED this film! I was hesitant at first since this was my first j-drama, but I don’t regret this being my first at all. It was heartfelt, youthful, and I continued to support the two main characters throughout their struggles/happiest moments. There were so many clues and hints that were foreshadowed which ultimately led to such a strong yet sorrowful ending. However, I feel that both found solace and comfort within each other and I would recommend if you like a first-love trope! Was this review helpful to you?
Realistic and heartbreaking plot but production was rushed
I’ve saw reviews on this film and many had said it was really sad and would make me cry. I anticipated shedding some tears, and though I didn’t, I felt the pain and sorrow of this whole storyline. It’s raw and gives a perspective on how bullying can take such impacts on a person/who they love as well. I just felt that the production and the way it was executed went by very quickly. I think if we took a moment to really understand the situation, it would’ve made me cry for sure. We went from one clip to another without truly appreciating the music, feelings or visuals. I wish that the producers would’ve made the film more slow-paced, so we can learn more about what the film is telling us and the lessons we should grasp. Was this review helpful to you?
“the distance between us was only five years, but you’re worth the time”
This film is such a youthful and light watch! I absolutely adore the aesthetic and the casting was truly incredible. I held off this film, but I’m glad I finished it as it made me feel butterflies and nostalgia for a happy ending. I like that the ml waited for her and though he might’ve not knew it at the time, he always WANTED to be there for her and see her grow through the years of adolescence. No matter what role, he wanted to be there in her life. He also said that he wanted to be her boyfriend, not he wanted her to be his girlfriend and I start to crumble whenever the ml says that (its the little things that count ?).Overall would recommend for if you want a feel-good cdrama. Though there were many obstacles, they always found their way back to each other, so if you want a happy ending and “always meant to be” genre, it’s perfect for you!

WHAT. 10/10.
THIS K-DRAMA IS ONE OF THE BEST I’VE EVER SEEN, WOAH. I watched it once (I wasn’t really paying attention to it), and the second time I’ve found that it was alright. HOWEVER, the third time as I was really paying attention to the fine details, my eyes were bawling. This film was soul-crushing, got me gripping the sheets and the producers now have to buy me insurance for the pain they caused me (in a good way.) I love that Bora got closure in the end, and she finally understood why he never called back. I do hate that we never knew how he died, but I do think uncertainty and the sadness of “what if?” is a big aespect that gets instilled in this melodrama. Kim Yoo-jung and Byeon Woo-seok had played their roles so incredibly that I felt the chemistry and life that was being put in ?100% recommend if you want a sob-fest and to cry to a first love film. don’t recommend if you want a happy ending and a love to last.
