Of course the first episode would had higher rating, and that was expected. What you wanted to look for was follow through and "research" other markets by using something like Netflix. I know you did not have Netflix raw data, but you could look at their trending now, popular on, etc... Alchemy of Soul 2 had underperformed AOSa even with the huge push by Netflix. You could also look at Google Trends to see the popularity between Season1 and Season2.

There was a difference between an actress's failure and the show's failure, the latter involved a lot more moving parts. Swapping a lead was very difficult to pull off since viewers had invested in the original lead and many other factors. Whenever a popular lead left a show, it mostly had a negative impact on the show. I could not think of a single show where a replacement had a direct improvement on it.

Look at the 2nd episode of both seasons, (I am now assuming you are not an idiot and could see patterns between both seasons) the first season was a lot better especially the ending. Much else could be said but in short - Mu Deok was a goddess who were humbled, and Naksu was a goddess who looked to be a spoiled brat. One fighting her past, the other fighting to get out of a room.

In conclusion - story did fail me, the actress did not.

Somehow you read my comment as a negative for Go Yoon Jung's performance. There is such thing as good and better. But to your point, data is not on your side, and time will tell the story.

Welp.... feared that they had failed (like many shows) to swap out a lead even though it is part of the storyline. Jung So Min as Mu Deok was too good. Going to give it another episode.

They found out Mu-Deok is Bu-Yeon and Naksu. My take - Bu-Yeon was the one that killed Jang Uk, forced Naksu to take her body earlier in the episode (remember she's a very powerful mage), was in control when Mu-Deok sacrificed herself to be brought back, and be the final boss.

I don't know if it was the intention of the show's creators, but Alchemy of Souls delivered on the "finding your love in the next life and trying to rights the wrongs from the previous life" storyline.

This show is decent, and was made better by Kim Hye Joon. The end is weak and there are a series of stupidities in the show, but overall it is worth watching. Lee Young Ae, Kim Hae Sook and
Kwak Sun Young have fun and entertaining parts in the show.

Didn't like Kim Hye Joon in Kingdom, but will catch other shows of her.

Watched this show after seeing Jihyo's ost. It is surprisingly good. One annoying fact is that most companies in the USA and Korea expect top performers to do more than the average. You probably heard, well, you should slow down and help them instead of...

This show is stupid that tried to be smart! Cancel this entire show and save your money. I can't stand weak storyline with stupid excuses to plod the plot along.

Nothing should made sense in a time travel show because the possibilities are infinite so confusion is their goal, but the theory should be at least plausible to our reality.

I give it some credits for switching the plot in the last episode.

People who are confused about this show should watch The Terminator and Terminator 2: Judgment Day. In short, for the Grid to be built, Ghost has to exist, for the Ghost to exist, certain characters have to exist, for certain characters to exist, Ghost(s) has to exist... Temporal paradox.

This show is stupid, but will continue to watch it for the pathetic temporal paradox. It's going to be a disaster. BTW, if time doesn't flow, it means she is hopping from one multiverse to another, and she is omnipotent. There is no way she could be captured unless she wanted to be captured. Just imagine playing a video game infinite amount of time, you will eventually know everything about the game and can decide on the game character faith. Time doesn't flow for the game character. Maybe this show will break the fourth wall.

This show has good potentials but it turned stupid near the end. I literally dislike every characters on this show except for Cheol Soo, his character doesn't stop thinking. I will never watch a show from producer Kim Hong Seon and screenwriter Chun Sung Il again.

This movie has a lot of potentials, but it turns out to be a scary movie trope down to the incompetent cops. Korean National Police Agency should put a disclaimer in the beginning of each episode stating that they are not this dumb and pathetic.

It is infuriating to see characters reduced to helpless clowns for plot points. The villains are weak, and frankly nothing that they have done are remotely scary; furthermore, the psychological games are very poorly conveyed except for the lack of sleep.
