Sorry, my mistake. I used copy/paste on all and went back through and changed the few that were different. I knew I would miss one or two. Thanks for catching and letting me know. I’ll make the correction.
I think I missed something. What was Ando’s (the chocolatier coworker that show up as a co-counselor) Mental Problem? What the heck was Vincenzo doing showing up at group therapy?
I made it through on my first try!!! Seriously, that never happens. I did guess on a few and was correct using the process of elimination. Super cool. Thanks!
you didn't show the neck tattoo for ram so i didn't get that one right away
I did think about just showing only his neck tattoo instead but it was hard to get a good enough clear image and crop on it. It’s a tricky one. I figured some of these would be hard and others super easy.
Bi Hyeong is the goblin king, Jigwi a Gumiho and Gildal a goblin.
I believe his story was told in the opening of the 4 episode. He was born from his mixed parents. Basically it said that he is half human and Half Gumiho. That he didn’t fit in the human world or fit in with the Gumihos. He was sensitive and beautiful but very very lonely.
I’m on episode 20. There is a lot to love about this drama. I’m hooked but I can’t stand the parents. The exceptions, of course, is the ML’s dad and the FL’s grandmother. The ML’s mom is the absolute worst. There is so much to unwrap here. I’m a young widow as well so I feel like I can relate to the ML. I know it’s fiction but in real life, loosing your spouse hurts so bad you actually feel like you are dying. No one should tell you how to grieve or when you should and should not move on. If you are able to pull yourself out of that hell, and by some miracle, find happiness again with someone new. No one, absolutely nobody, should begrudge you that happiness, even if they feel that person is unsuitable. I believe from this point forward I will be fast forwarding the parent parts.
The Sung Hoon story line is my favorite. He is so ridiculously good looking and I love his character in this. I love his clueless arrogance and overall goofiness. love that it’s feeling like Pride & Prejudice because that’s my favorite book/movie. His confession was so very “Pride & Prejudice” and hilarious. I’m really enjoying his storyline.
I had just finished “Revenged Love” and was looking for another BL to watch that was equally enjoyable. I selected “ABO Desire” because it was Chinese as well. I had never heard of the ABO Universe so this was my first introduction to it. I found the ABO World Building fascinating and confusing. Here is where MDL and this page with its comments and message board were extremely useful to help build my understanding of what the heck was going on. I thank each and every one of you that have written lengthy explanations for us newbies. Your love for the ABO Universe shines through your posts.
While “Revenged Love” was a fun and enjoyable watch, I have found “ABO Desire,” to be a frustrating watch. The first 10 episodes were slow and I found myself having a hard time staying awake during these episodes. Seriously too much time was spent on their business dealings instead of character development. Also the main couple seems to be stuck in annoying pattern of repetitive behaviors in these episodes that made it tedious. Not a whole lot going on to advance the story for 9 entire episodes. Many times I thought of dropping it. I stuck with it for a few reasons. One, because I loved the second couple’s story despite that it had so little screen time. Two, the four main actors are great. While I didn’t like the main couple as much as the second couple, I still enjoyed their story. Three, even with all its boring parts there is still something extremely compelling about this drama. I was intrigued.
I’m glad I stuck with it because the second half of this drama was fire! The earthquake episode and the episodes fallowing were more enjoyable. The ending left me wanting more.
While I like “Revenge Love” better I believe that “ABO Desire” will stay with me longer. it certainly wasn’t a favorite but it was very memorable. Bring on Season 2!!!
I haven’t read the novel, but I’ve watched all 10 episodes so far, and I still don’t understand why Ramphueng…
Khem, unfortunately, is part of Ramphueng’s cursed. She cursed his entire bloodline. In the scenes with Ramphueng back story we learned that the Mom /wife with the daughter, a distant relative of Khem, that was kind to Ramphueng, but in the end she had to go along with the first wife’s story because she feared her retaliation if she didn’t. When Rampphueng spoke her curse as she was being beaten she basically cursed his entire bloodline. If their descendent’s were boys, then they aren’t supposed to make it past their 21st Birthday. Khem’s only guilt was being born a boy in the wrong family. Sucks to be him.
What a way to begin a story. It felt like someone had thrown a raw, bloody piece of meat into my lap, then stared…
Thanks for this. I share many of the same thoughts. Watching the car scene in that first episode I was left thinking, “what did I just see?” I was left to process it on my own and I come to the conclusion that Odajima has been trained to follow orders without question. I feel like he was accepting that this was now part of his job. Kataoka abusing his power.
Two episodes in and I already feel like this is campy and unintentionally funny in parts. I’m not saying that’s a bad thing. “Campy and unintentionally funny” is still highly entertaining. This just might fall into the “so bad it’s good” type of BL. It’s still too soon to tell but I’m here for it.
