1 Problematic Couple & 1 Wholesome Couple
Li Cheng & Teng Teng is the wholesome couple. Their friends to lovers story is good. Writers still felt a desperate need to throw in a date rape scene but it is "less problematic" than the other couple's version, since it was for the purpose of having Li Cheng rescue Teng... but still there really is no reason for any date rape scenes... Li Cheng could have rescued Teng from a million less creepy tropes. But the ultimate takeaway is that their chemistry was great, their relationship progression was healthy- right down to Li Cheng taking a step back and not pressuring Teng when Teng said he wasn't ready.Xing Si & Yong Jie is all the problematic everything- and super annoying they are the main couple. I had a really hard time reconciling the stalking, the date rape, and recording the date rape to blackmail the parents into approving their relationship. The characters (i.e. writers) hardly deal with the date rape, make Xing Si take the blame for the incident, and have Xing Si forgive and still fall in love with Yong Jie. All the no with an extra helping of heck no.
The writers of this show really love throwing date rape around like confetti.
As for rewatching... Li Cheng & Teng Teng are the only watchable pair; so just look for the youtube fan videos of them.

Beautiful until the end; then the writers hurt you for no reason.
Some well written characters, and a lot of character growth for the main female lead. Then the last two episodes the writers ram a terminal illness in, force you to watch e.v.e.r.y.o.n.e. suffer then recover, and reveal that the main male lead's death was faked. I tell people to avoid this because the ending made me so angry. That is legit all I have to say about this flipping show but this site apparently forces a 500 character minimum for reviews so... 🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶

Loved everything but the ending...
The actors are great, and the chemistry between both pairs is great. The personal growth of each character is realistic feeling. There is so much positive to be found in this series.Until the end. Where the writers decide to kill off one of the lovers for no apparent good reason. It literally was not necessary to kill him off. And it made me so angry that I have difficulty recommending the show. I have rewatched the series a couple of times because I do love both couples- but I don't watch the last half of the penultimate episode, and I don't watch the last episode at all. I just ignore that ending. I pretend that ending doesn't exist.
The end of episode 18, all of 19 & 20 (or as seen on Viki, episodes 9 & 10). The only good thing about the last episode was seeing that Zhi Gang & Bo Xiang are still happily together. You know who should also be happy in those last episodes? Xi Gu & Hao Ting. ---- In other BL parallel universes: I love the cameos of Xi Gu/Huang Chun Chish & Hao Ting/Wayne Song in the show Plus & Minus.
