One of the cutest BLs I have ever seen!

Definitely you can't expect and Oscar-worthy series from this one but one thing for sure, I am a very easy-going person, some silly comedies would make me laugh so hard and each episode of this drama did not fail to make me laugh hence, this review is totally personal and you might have different opinion than the one I write below.

When I first saw the trailer, I did not have a high expectation on this one as it will be the same university life BL stories but I trusted that this would be an okay-ish story as it was based on JittiRain novel (author of Theory of Love and 2gether). Also, I am a diehard shipper of NeoPhuwin and when I saw Neo and Phuwin will not be a couple in this drama, my interest dropped. But, after the first episode, I got hooked, impressed and immediately had a good feeling about this one and each episode was getting better, waiting for Fridays was the most torture thing for me for the past weeks.

So what makes me like this series so much (it will be endless but I make it short):
1) The directing. What makes this series so good is the ability of the director to make the comedy part "laughable". If you think the series is just a silly BL story for teenagers, it is not. It is full with good messages and were conveyed in a fun and comedic way. The directing managed to set the tone of the series so well, also they tried to make Duean and Meen story as separated story and it did not feel weird to me.
2) The acting. There are some experienced and new actors, but their acting was good and they don't really look like they just get out from the acting class.
3) OST and background music were awesome, so perfectly placed in the series and both Louis and Mix songs had been on my playlist and on repeat for many weeks already.
4) The small little effort to make Pi's and Duean's room to look like a real living person room, not just for the sake of the series! (LOL, I know).

What are the things that I wish it could be improved:
1) I would love to see more interactions and dynamics of Pi and Duean family. I love every moment of the parents, and the three brothers. They had an interesting chemistry and characters, I wish to see they explore more into the stories of the family, their reactions to accept the couple of Pi, Duean and Wan (by the way in Thai Pi means year, Duean means month and Wan means day, LOL) and also the closeness of three brothers. The family adds flavour to this series.

2) I wish Bam (Janhae) character was a male. Look, don't get me wrong, I love Janhae, she's a great actress especially in Who Are You (LOL!) and I know love is genderless. But I get tired to see a female character to make someone else jealous in BL series. Mork loves Pi and tried so hard to win Pi's heart, we know Mork has interest in men (arguable, yes) so it would make a perfect sense if Mork has a male friend or ex boyfriend to make Pi jealous. I also don't want to see another "I don't like men, I only like you" so if Bam character was a male, then my heart will be at peace, at least.

This series has all the cliché things you have seen in other BL series but as Gun Attaphan said in Theory of Love, "it is not cliché, it is called classic". The clichés, "stupidity", illogical and craziness of the stories what made this series so cute and good in so many ways. You can see the Genres and Tags of this series in the descriptions and if you can't handle those then it might not be your cup of tea. "Comedy" is the first genre listed, well you can argue a good and bad comedy, not everyone will laugh at the comedy part of this series but this is the first BL comedy for me that really did not fail me from the get-go.

In conclusion, if you're still thinking to watch or not, give it a try, it is worth it. If this series was aired last year during worldwide lockdown, I'm sure it will become a hit just like 2gether. So yeah, that was a cue for you to start watching this golden series. Enjoy!

Truly a gem and underrated series from GMMTV!

GMMTV did not disappoint me a bit with this one. I did not have a high expectation when I started this series. To be honest, I wanted to watch this because of Khaotung and Nanon. Mostly because I wanted to know who will be the actor partnered with Khaotung in his love story. I wish it will get high rating but I think because this is like fiction fantasy kind of drama, so it is probably not everyone cup of tea, and it is not BL so less people watch this and less people give ratings. In short, all five main characters who were 55 years old, went back to their 15 years old bodies and trying to figure out what opportunities they missed, what mistakes they did and they learned and tried to correct it on their own way.

As soon as I started this when it first aired, it got me hooked till the very end. This series aired at the same time with Baker Boys, Bad Buddy, F4, Not Me and The Player but I did not know why but every week I was excited and kept waiting for this one.

All five stories are greatly written. It was full with messages and truly, I learn a lot from the drama. The music and OST are amazing. The drama showed a lot of actors and their acting were really good. I didn't have a "cringe" moment from any scene or from any actors. It made me smiles all the way because some part were funny, but I shed some tears too at some scenes. It was full with emotions. The directing, cinematography and editing were good, you can see that the production house that produced this drama is a good production house and an experienced one too because compared to some other series from GMMTV (I don't want to put the name here), this series was so much better and good quality.

If you're wondering whether or not you should start with this one, please do. You'll not regret it.

If there is 1000 stars rating on MyDramaList, this drama truly deserves 1000 stars!

The best BL ever made (as of April 2021)!

As a fan of the novel, I would say (and I believe most readers agree too) that this drama adaptation of the novel really made well. This drama did justice to the novel although there were some changes here and there.

This drama is full of emotions ride. We were blessed with romance, happiness, drama and emotional stories in one go. If you are looking for a BL that is not typical, does not revolve around school-university students life with different setting, then this is the one.

Why I like it:
Great directing! (kudos P'Aof)
Great acting!
Great storyline!
Great music!
Great cinematography!
Great editing!

The chemistry of Earth and Mix is insane. We immediately felt the connection between Phupha and Tian the moment they met. The tensions and attractions of Phupa and Tian toward each other were crazy, greatly done and made me smile each time I saw the romantic scenes. Earth really did a great job in this drama. He improved a lot and managed to convey his feelings and thoughts through his expressions only and we immediately felt that. Mix, as a newcomer was amazing. He could carry this heavy role and express all complex feelings really well. His acting is natural and doesn't have "acting template" which sometimes some other actors look unnatural when they acted some difficult and challenging scenes. I felt connected to Tian's struggles, feelings, emotions and stories through Mix's acting.

Other characters did an awesome job too, they are there to fit the purposes and not just a character to fill up the storyline. I like Longtae, Khama and Dr Nam characters the most. One thing I particularly like is the cinematography of this drama. All scenes were beautiful and the camera work was really good and there was no awkward camera angle. I like the colour tone of this drama which gave warm and calm feelings whenever I watch it. Also, I must credit P'Aof for giving us such a high quality drama with good editing and storyline. Each episode did not feel boring, storyline was written and planned properly and the stories developed with sensical plotline and editing. The other beauty side of Thailand was portrayed really well in the drama and this made me really happy.

One last thing to note, I really love the conversation between Tian and Tul in which Tian expressed his feelings and fond of Phupa. He understands his feelings, he acknowledges it and there is no bullshit reason to tell why he likes Phupha. Also, the editing of that scene alone which also showed the conversations between Phupha and Dr Nam was beautifully done.

If you have watched this drama, I recommend you to read the novel too (I think English translation of the novel is available). If you haven't watched, please watch this beautiful drama. You will not regret it. It's hard to move on from this beautiful drama and I am sure I will watch this over and over again till I get tired or till new BL that can beat this drama produced. I haven't felt this kind of feelings after watching a drama for a long time and I would say the one year plus waiting for this drama was totally worth it!

not everyone's cup of tea, and it is okay if you like the show

By all means, this review is a personal opinion. For future viewers, read this at your own risk and this review should not make you watch the series or prevent you from watching it. To be honest, I watched this series weekly and I admit that it got boring at some point but I did watch this again from episode 1 until 9 just before the final episode and I have to say that the story was better when I watched this series continuously.

What I like about the show:
1) It may be weird to some, but I kinda like the OST, it does relate with the story.
2) The acting is above average, not too bad, not too great since I can say most of the actors are "experienced" actors. Some actors did show well how the characters supposed to behave like Khaotung playing as Chonlatee (a cute and innocent guy) and even Pod is great in this (that's why most people hated him because he managed to show how Tonhon supposed to be from the novel and screenplay). I like Na and Aunt Nam characters the most.
3) The whole "satire" idea of this story. And here are my takeout from this series:

The intro of this drama (The Untamed parody) showed that this drama is completely a satire and a satire is “the use of humor, irony, exaggeration, or ridicule to expose and criticize people’s stupidity or vices” (https://literaryterms.net/). This shows at some point exaggerated some issues like homophobic character and crazy ex girlfriend to a point that it doesn't make sense. And for me, this is exactly what this shows want to show to the audience and it was executed brilliantly. One example that I noticed and I am also not sure about this (this is random observation) but remember how Miriam kept on telling people that she is virgin? And in the end she is pregnant and assuming that she is still virgin at that point, what she will be called when she delivers the baby? Exactly, a virgin Miriam (LOL). Okay that is not a main issue. One of the main issues is Ton's father being homophobic entire 10 episodes just because of heir issue and at the end surrogacy is the solution to this? Exactly, this is ridiculous. You see, being homophobic is ridiculous and sometimes people become homophobic because of ridiculous reasons. All you need is a solution to make people understand and the solution can be any (in this case, they propose an extreme solution which is surrogacy).

Like I said, not everyone will like this because of the "stereotype and cliche" plot and the drama showed a lot of heavy issues (such as effeminate villain character, crazy ex girlfriend, homophobic characters, toxic masculinity, attempted rape and etc). For me, all issues were addressed well in the drama, you may need to pay a little attention to what the characters said in the drama. Whether or not you think the issues were properly addressed, you already have the answer. Watching drama is supposed to be as simple as this: "Oh, this character behavior is bad and he is homophobic". Good, you notice it, don't be like them. And if you like the character because they show good behavior, it's great, be like them in real life.

I learn and gain something, well kinda a lot from this drama. In short, I am a simple person, if I like what I watch, give me good times and I laugh out of it, I am happy. Because life is too short to take all things seriously. And sometimes, I need this kind of drama to remind me that these people and even these issues exist in real life. As open as Thailand can be, there are still people who are homophobic and prejudice towards gay people, it is a never ending problem. But just like they said in the series, gay is not a virus, it is not infectious. Live well!

From a funny beginning to an emotional ending.

Well, at first when GMMTV posted a trailer, every single fan of Off Gun, Singto Krist and Tay New went crazy to have Holy Trinity in one series. I am excited too.

The storyline is simple yet so interesting. It started slow but it got deeper and more complex as the series reaching an end. This story is all about friendship and family bond. If you have great friends and family, and if you value the friendship and family that you have, you can face anything in this world. It's great to see how your friends and family helped you to overcome your fear and be strong to face your daily struggles. Look at around us, without we realize, sometimes our friends and family have some fear that they face and if we pay a bit attention to them, we can help to overcome their everyday struggle. The characters in this series probably have funny fear but it's great to see how this fear can be overcame if we help each other.

What I love the most about this series is the great directing, acting and cinematography. The directing is superb, the cinematography is amazing with interesting and beautiful visual. The acting is top class and this is what you'll get if you have experienced actors. All 6 of them including the supporting actors and actresses were able to play their roles impactfully. Even though they are acting but at some point, you don't feel like they are acting. It seems like they are being casual and acting like their own true self and this is what I like about their acting because it feels so natural and you can feel each and every individual character.

But I have to give a credit to Gun's and Krist's acting especially the scene in the beginning of episode 7. Both actors displayed excellent acting skills and were able to give a such an impactful scene without feeling cringe or awkward.

Do watch this short series if you want something light, fun and emotional story. The OST is also amazing, I hear it everyday now. :))
