Writer is misogynistic

I tried to hold myself from calling this writer as such, especially when he wrote one of the best sageuk "The Princess Man" and I am aware he might not has fully control over his writing. But I still need to say what I want.

This drama used most of female characters as his tools, and he wrote them as the most annoying and bad characters in the whole series. But he wrote the male lead as the most greenest character, other male characters while not perfect but not written in the worst ways.

Let's not forget how he made Inok as the "villain" in several ep 🤦 and suddenly resolved it in just simplest way lmao.

The lead actress hard carried this drama but the ones benefiting the most are both male leads - one is loved for playing the greenest character (viewers are easy to be pleased lol) and other one is hated for this role but he also became more popular. Both of them are truly "The Real Has Come".

Sweet youth romance + controversial setting

The best part of this romance drama is the chemistry between the main couple as well as the trio leads. The main leads ZLS and CZY are truly complement each other, although tbvh it's also hard to believe their characters are supposed to be 5 years apart with him being older.

Controversial part, the setting between adult male lead and child version of the female lead/ when the female lead during her high school in around 7 ep was actually quite uncomfortable to watch, yes we can argue the male lead didn't see her as a woman yet that time but it doesn't mean everyone should agree with that.

Overall, it's still quite pleasant to watch. All of us have crush, but mostly ended as unrequited ones. Nice to see someone's crush has her happy ending in the fictional world.

Second couple is the best part of the series :)

The major fault of this series was the story about the main leads in the first 20 ep, was not engaging enough coupled with other things (chemistry, acting) that made the viewers ran away after the the first week. The messy storyline in the second half was mainly due to the desperate attempts by the writer to save the rating. Admit it or not, the first half of this drama was the cause of the downfall of KBS weekender, it's unfortunate because it got the decent start with 20% rating.

Anyway, mainly watched for Kim So eun, despite of messy storyline it's so nice to see her screentime increased in the second half even though the writing was bad. Unfortunately she ended up as the punching bag for the female lead's fans who were not satisfied with her screentime and with both her and Kim Seung soo also got the Best Couple award instead of the main couple 😅

Rooted for Im Ju hwan to get his main lead role after Ugly Alert but this was just not it, although his performance actually stood out in the second half.

Lastly, won't really recommend this except if you are really a fan of any of four leads
