I think my main thing for this drama is how well it expresses the toll self hatred / low self esteem plays on the way you interact with the world and how invisible that can seem to those around you.

Our three leads have very different traumas and backgrounds that lead them to make conscious and subconscious choices that are actively antithetical to their own happiness. FLs defense mechanism of being the one who sets the terms and end things so she is no longer left alone through others' actions, MLs defense mechanism of sitting with the status quo and not rocking the boat, SMLs defense mechanism of staying the "observer" desperately wanting to interact with the world on a more emotional level, leave them all stagnant and lonely and unable to move forward with the relationships most important to them. There was a catharsis in watching them look at their behaviours, address it at the root and make the active decisions to change. All while being a little bit petty haha. Which I love for them.

Did I get frustrated at each of them parts? Yes. Because other people's growth is slow and easy to pinpoint as an observer but hard to get right as the person in it. But I am so glad to have seen them identify their need to communicate and move in their own paths.

I just really wish we had seen more of the friendship with the ML and SML. I know part of the whole point is that they were still lonely in their friendship with eachother but I just enjoyed those times where we saw the connection moments between them and I think the SMLs story was a bit too disconnected from the rest of the narrative without those connective moments.

I binge watched it and it was great for me. I think it's just not some people's taste and that's okay.

I think with this there is also a certain level of culpability with tbe ML as, as he says himself, he spends his life not rocking the boat on purpose. Yes, she should have told him and opened up to him but he went 5 years just being okay with her being "fine" and never prying deeper. You can't then expect to get deeper answers if that's the precedent that's been set.

I really appreciate that when they finally do get back together they come to realise both more about themselves as people and also about what communication needs to be like in their relationship because love was never the problem for them.

It's trauma, plain and simple. She has and is dealing with an immense amount of trauma surrounding trusting her reality and trusting other people ESPECIALLY when they seem to be "nice" because she's spent a life time learning that the "nice" people in her life who she freely trusted and relied on were in fact literally evil and preying on her downfall so much that one of them killed her. That initial second of questioning him that other people might have gotten over easily was enough to turn her brain upside down and irrationally put walls up in case she had been wrong again. In case once again someone was playing nice but was actually not nice and it would cause her harm. Was she right? No. But given what she's been through is it justifiable (especially because she wasn't cruel to him about it) - imo, yes.

Literally. I need some hope for her or some wins for her soon because my heart is breaking

I mean was he definitely the ML? It would always have been hard to forgive the things he did. They were awful and vindictive and revictimising a survivor. He gave the devil access to his child as well. I'm glad we don't have to content with FL accepting his redemption.

Six episodes isn't gonna be enough is it? I can tell right now I'm going to be crying for more.

I think the first 4 episodes were absolutely amazing but we lost some clarity and coherence in the latter half. And before anyone comes for me saying I didn't understand it - I physically understand what was trying to be said, I called the main elements from episode 2 - it just felt a bit more rushed and disjointed in the latter half. I wish they had a bit more time to explore the theme and especially to explore both Y and M's relationships to self love.

I mean even if they were full on sex workers it would still be wrong to drug and r*pe them so not sure about the first part of your comment. But yeah, the women in this show are abhorrent and atp we don't see a single one even really get properly reprimanded let alone punished for what they have done.

Ooh, I assumed it was just used on her that night but that would be interesting. And I guess maybe evil papa would then be getting it "prescribed" on the low to "help".

So do we think the psychologist was really never there or got paid / threatened to say that? Or even a combination of the two?

Because if she's not been going to see her... How does she keep on getting medication? (unless it's different in Korea)

There are about 6 different "he's" this could be about not including the fact that it could also be about a character in her past. I personally wouldnt class it as a spoiler.

Really hoping that in death the one thing he could do for her is have been smart enough to entrust the evidence to someone else.

I really liked this show. I think there was some more that could have been worked on acting wise but I think the narrative and the way the story unfolded were really engaging and I was really rooting to hear the incident from both perspectives. I could have done with more and a bit more cohesion between the two major plotlines but that's almost always the case with 8 ep 20 minute shows.

The final episode was a let down for me. There was a lot of handwaving of issues / development in favour of rushing to another time skip. It felt shallow.

The fact that Day apparently broke up with Mohk then blocked his number and never spoke to him again but MHOK is the one not only thankful but apologising? Wild.

Why do we not get to see Day actually living independently? . They suggest it but we never see him using his systems including the fact that he's walking about waving his arms wildly trying to navigate his space. I thought he got a white cane last ep. Where did that go? When Mhok comes back he behaves EXACTLY the same as before including constantly shepherding Day about. There didn't seem to be any growth there whatsoever?

All in all the series was well acted and aesthetically pleasing but I feel like a ball was dropped somewhere. Maybe they needed more time or different complications.

Sumin doesn't want Minhwan really let's be honest. She just doesn't want Ji won to have him. It's very clear that she has taken or corrupted every good thing in her "friend" 's life from the day they met and it's her passion to take him because she thinks Ji won is happy.

I strongly disagree. Do you know how strong you have to be to see someone who attempted to murder / actually did murder you every day and be in their presence and not just crumble? She's incredibly strong and has an incredible will compared to the trauma she has endured. She just wants to be free of them and she's playing the right long game to let them destroy themselves / each other rather than destroying her.

Two secrets! But yeah. 😁
