r u racist? What would you say about an entire community that actually follows this is real life? You are weird
You quite literally excluded the ONLY part of your comment I pushed back against to comment this which was also your opening commentπŸ’€.You have uninformed prejudices that you hide behind 'good intentions' which is just as dangerous in terms of people being the target of bigotry as people being disgusted by cousins dating. Ask yourself who the "one religion" you initially decided was the one who does it is, what the prevailing public opinion of them is, why you connected it to racism and why you have that underlying belief.

We'll leave this here because you're clearly not going to actually self reflect in any way with your back all the way up.

I was responding to incorrect information because both misinformation and randomly using unrelated *actual issues* to prop up your opinion is weird. You can, in fact, talk about your opinion on stuff without just making stuff up and acting randomly offended. This benefits everyone involved, keeps things on topic, shares your actual point of view and allows for legitimate discussions that can actually go somewhere.

im assuming you're trying to say I'm throwing out *mumbo jumbo which once again suggests you just don't understand what is being said. its not a crime or fault to not understand something just acknowledge that and move on. 😭

We can come back to this when you've learned how to comprehend information through reading because you very clearly either didn't understand or willfully ignored what my comment said, my guy.

Erm, getting with your cousin isn't bound upon any racial lines and it would probably be more racist that you have a specific race that you consider as doing this vs another. People around the world of different races and religions have either historically or currently had cousin to cousin relationships of many forms. Its not racist to be against it and it's not racial to be for it.

Not to get in the way of you championing cousin to cousin relations but I was just asking because you made it seem like it was clearly stated somewhere when you said "at least you understand that". I didnt see anywhere it was stated in the show or in any of the blurbs about the show

Having to have that all come out in front of your ex is... somehow worse. Where did ZhenZhen disappear to? Not a single word or action of comfort, huh? Oh boy I feel so sorry for our boy Shulang. I know he's smart and all but how does he extricate himself from being intrinsically wrapped in all of this? 😭😭😭

Like I know its because he didn't give himself fully to Zhen Zhen but ngl I feel like the situations were still different enough that even if he had the same feelings the situation would be massively different. Like zhen zhen you cheated on me. whatever, it's sad but people cheat. this man manipulated my entire life for months. you are not the same.

Looking forward to the spinoff at least. Will be nice to get fresh air in the world. Really hoping they don't make me dislike either of the other two cause right now I like them both and I can't take another s2 Shirasaki.

iirc it was the first time he opened up about his family in the latest ep 😭
I agree Asami should 1000% express himself more and thats been his journey since season 1 but the way to get someone to express themselves more or feel safe to share with you isn't shouting them down when they try to do so. But also, forgive me if im wrong, but isn't that part of like the general Japanese culture to be less expressive in that way and thus they communicate in ways that bear that in mind?

I would also like to really press that I didnt say know *everything* I said know anything. How do you not know what's going on in their day to day, how they feel about their projects etc. He finds out that the role they're going for is one that Asami has always wanted to play from an interview after the fact. He has the play in his cook collection. How have you not had space to talk about the project? Well we know why because of the self imposed isolation period and because he's always putting a boundary on their professional discussions without considering once how Asami might feel about that. Asami is too much in his own head but he only makes it his own problem whereas Shirasaki is too much in his own head and he makes it everyone else's problem haha.

Now that I'm writing this im actually thinking what, other than Shirasaki, do they actually talk about when they're alone? I might need a rewatch at some point to see what I must be forgetting due to a recency bias.

If you've watched it knowing the Japanese then it would make a lot of sense you'd have a different interpretation of that scene that people like me aren't seeing because we are only going by the subtitles and previous behaviours so that's really interesting. Unfortunately I obviously can't engage with that side of things because of the language barrier.

Shirasaki has me actually fuming this season. There is just no way in one episode I can turn around and think this guy is in a place to actually be in a mutual adult relationship with another human being. Season 2 is Shirasaki take the slightest interest in his partners feelings outside of his own lense challenge - impossible edition, apparently.

How do you live with someone you're dating and not know anything about their life?

Is it becayse you spend all your time making everything about yourself and your manufactured need to "be where he is at" even though you started in the industry at different times and have different journeys? Seems very much the case here.

We see Asami try a couple of times and also be objectively upset a lot around Shiraeaki. You know who notices? Half the people around him apart from the person he literally lives with. People aren't annoyed that Shirasaki is supposed to be a mind reader. They're annoyed because he takes no active interest in his partner outside of the pedestal he has put him on and uses his own insecurity as a shield that noone elses feelings can get through (whether it was his intention or not). Oh, you feel like you need some space for the auditions so you're not talking to your partner for however long. How does he feel about that? Oh it doesn't really matter because you're doing it anyway. Cool.

When talked abut about his parents on the walk home the other (not loads obviously but it was a start) Shirasaki instead of sitting in the moment went off to get drinks or whatever.

This time he finally breaks and opens up about the stuff that has been weighing on him and instead of comfort, understanding, questioning or anything you'd expect of a partner he gets a sad woe is me diatribe about how Shirasaki's life is hard and how he's gotta just get over his shit because he has this opportunity that's perceived to be great even though its clearly causing him real turmoil.

You know what would be fun, this premise and start but the Doha character tries dating all of them at the same time (with their agreement ofc) because he "doesn't know how he feels" and "doesn't want to hurt anyone" he gets to understand them each and himself better. We learn what each of them saw in Doha, see them interacting with each other more and Doha actually grows and understands himself in a way that feels like he has progressed as a character by the end of the series. Is there something out there that does this already?

The negative comments seem to boil down to Do Ha's lack of personality, an uninspiring plot line, and/or not being…
I think for me it wasn't that the plot was uninspiring its that it had no meat which is slightly different. Like I've watched a lot of really formulaic / rehashed or like poorly plotted shows before and still had more of a connection to them because of the way they made things feel a bit more like stakes existed within the world. It never really felt like what anyone did truly mattered or had any lasting effect on the other parts of the story. You could cut out most of the interactions and still hit the beats it hits exactly for the final two with zero effect on their story or character development.

I find it so funny people are criticising TG but not the team leader for "stalking" when the team leader is the person who first was like I've gotta find Do Ha after ONE DAY of not messaging back and he then weaponised TG by getting him to find Do Ha and literally is with him on this chase. He'd even gone to the cafe first. Like, dont like TG all you want for whatever reason but all three of them had the same level of following Doha when he didn't ask to be followed... Probably the other two moreso because at least TG was his childhood friend and has years of relationship behind it vs people he had just met.

Lol Gyeon, I dont think you can just punch someone just because they were out with your friend for a day. Even if he has declared his love for him. Also both the team leader and Gyeons weird reaction to a couple of hours of not having his phone on is so wild. People lose their phones, get pickpocketed or their batteries die like all the time. Why tf would you panick about that with zero other indicators that anything was wrong?

I know all dramas have manufactured conflict but this may perhaps be the most arbitrarily manufactured conflict I've seen in a long time.

This is a massive misperception. There are plenty of people who haven't kissed people or been on a relationship at even 30+. Like waaay more than you'd think. I didnt believe it until I kept getting a bunch of content that had like swathes of people identifying with just that and a lot of the creators I would consider conventionally attractive were in that mix telling their stories of feeling outside of society and feeling alone with this because everyone assumed the same that you do.

in the very very slightest fairness to him pretty sure it was his dad who stopped paying for the caretaker like…
Obviously this may work completely differently in Thailand but usually don't hospice carers work until the last moments basically, especially when there's noone else to care for them as the point is to help them go as peacefully as possible? The nurse didn't seem to be behaving like she had knowledge of his death so that wouldn't be my assumption but maybe the show will give us some more clarity next episode.

I also saw his pivot to telling her her dad was dead as a way to avoid accountability because yes that is also related to the dad but he didn't answer that like there was nothing else he could do or anything like that. he did a hard pivot. I saw that plus the implication of him coming in the middle of the night as both to avoid getting seen visiting her but also that her dad had recently died or he'd just been informed that he had.
