we keep getting peanuts when it comes to the main couple… they had more chemistry when they were enemies now it’s just turned into “I will see you when I see you & smiles”. They totally ditched the fiery side of shanbao that got us all hooked to the series. Like I get it they are fighting for their lives but why are they depriving us of the “ enemies to lovers to enemies to accomplices to lovers” it’s really not giving that anymore and the shows nearly over. And zero yearning like what is this a whole lot of nothing😭😭I know he probably still hasn’t found out that shanbao might be getting married to bai Lou but he should’ve been on his knees outside their building begging for her to take him back before his teacher died.

I think she gets to choose whichever one of the suitors she wants marry. The women are more of the “catch” in this case status money xyz. The men move in with the wife not the traditional other way round and just to have children no feelings are allowed to be involved. I’m assuming he also was extremely involved in the place of her cousin when he got injured xyz and he turned out to be very smart and able to pass the competition in place of her cousin, he came out on top actually. He just integrated so well she caught feelings he saved their lives a couple times and now it’s welcome to the family. Also the grandma just kept everyone bc I’m assuming that they might be marrying her daughters. The Yan bai lou monk guy is also a family friend staying with them but honestly now shanboa is kicked out and no longer part of the family what is he still doing there? A historical Air BnB😭

no I think at one point he was actually being assassinated and he did run away from them got amnesia from hitting his head. He was trying to see madam yangs coffin so they attempted to end him. I think that “ I did it all on purpose to infiltrate the rongs ” was a lie he made up to figure out who he was + who is on his side. Then he started to remember everything and got justice caught the slave that assassinated him but he hasn’t got the mastermind yet. In the end he just was locked in on trying to find what happened with madam Yang and ruined his “wedding”. That’s how I understood it I’m not 100% sure.

She’s her daughter she had out of marriage I think. Her dad was the one in that store making was it tea or buns I can’t exactly remember but it was when shanboa brought her into the family

Wow I’m so immersed again😭they nearly lost me for a second . This drama is really good so far very unpredictable. yunshu being the ultimate villain was predictable tho icl. What happened to her scholarly man bai ying sheng she was meeting under a tree🤣 honestly I can’t wait to see what the next few episodes will bring . And how shanboa will get on her grannies good side again. I feel like the granny is not stupid too she will soon realise she’s is being played by yunshu. I can’t wait to see how Lu jiang lai and Shanbao will get together she made a vow to her whole ancestors but she also made a vow to Lu so being for real idk where her priorities are when it comes to her already being on the thin ice with granny .

Mr white clothes monk over here bai Lou needs to stay the hell awayyy from shanbao. I feel like him and the yunshu are like partners in crime. She also has her own little second hand harem on the side with her shanbao suitors. And ML clocked this time ago and warned shanbao. The second I saw her evil villain side smile I knew it was over she wanted to take rong family’s head sister role. But lowkey she’s blind so idk in what world she thinks those people in that society will accept her with open arms she just want to ruin her own sisters life for the fun of it. Somebody get her

But she will probably catch up with him later, majority of what she does is executed immediately before she can share it with the class. In this case she is also head of the family information gets to her fast so she needs to act fast. He’s too busy trying to figure out who he is in the middle of an identity crisis courting her so I don’t think she has all the time in the world babysit him and share what she is doing every moment. He catches on and that’s what she likes about him. She’s not manipulating him to that extent it’s just a “partners in crime” thing.
