Can Chang Yang keep up being as supporting, caring, and loving for the next 10, 15, 20, 30, or 40 years? The guy puts in a lot of effort. He gives a lot of himself. I understand why. But, dang.
Ok. It would really be awesome if somone could compile the songs or the show could release the OST with all the songs. There are some cool tracks in here!
One thing has become painfully evident with this drama for the past 6 weeks now.
The writer's have somehow taken an interesting premise and turned it into a quite boring revenge quest. Every week, it feels like little to nothing happens. They are lucky though. They managed to create interesting character, and better yet, got incredibly lucky in casting to have gotten actors who are able to bring a lot out of their characters and the little story that's there.
Min, Toptap, Shogun, and Khunnote have all managed to inject a lot of life into their respective characters making them interesting plot devices, even if they somehow don't move the story forward much. Well, some manage to more than others. Like, I want to know more about Sky's trauma. Shugun sells his flashback events. I want to see Kajorn make Sun into a star (and actually care about Sky who's barely hanging on), and make all those a-holes give him more respect. Khunnote has this guardian figure vibe (although, he really has a lot of work to do on that still (I blame the writing)).
And Min and Toptap are carrying the drama on their backs, Min especially. Both are very good actors. They have fantastic chemistry together. When Jay looks like he wants to devour Sun, Toptap sells it. He looks like a hungry af wolf. When Sun is devoured by Jay, Min sells it. I still can't get over that intoxicated expression he has after a make-out session sometimes.
The characters and actors are why I'm here still. This could have been a 5 eps drama. We might have gotten more out of it that way. Or, better writing.
I'm interested in seeing Min and Toptap again in a different drama. A stronger drama.
I actually really liked this CP. They worked. They were'n't perfect, but that they beauty of it. They supported each other really well. Ryan's acting here works.
I especially loved the exploration of trauma and mental health. Surprisingly, there was no stigma attached. I really appreciated how Mo Xiu Yao understood the consequences of pushing away Ye Li in the way he did. It wasn't rushed. They took the time they needed. Well, maybe a little too much time. lol.
Wished they had utilized Han Ming Xi better. He had so much potential. He could have been Ye Li's body guard or something.
I get that Sunny is supposed to be the villain here. To me though, the bigger villain is the industry and what it does to these aspiring entertainers trying to make it in the industry. Power imbalance, sex trafficking, exploitation, bullying, etc. We've seen it time and time again IRL that these things do happen. I don't see how Jay would be able to really make change though. Let's see.

Did they ever explain his educational background?
